My wife wanted Oriental food for Dinner last night, so I made Kung Pao Beef and this Pork fried rice, only I used Chicken. My wife loved it, we have tried to come up with Fried rice on our own and it never worked out. I enjoyed it and look forward to making it again.

I thought it was a great leftover recipe for pork. I did add onions and a little bit of duck sauce which added a bit more flavor.

This recipe is better than take out. My family loves it. I used soy sauce instead of the sauce she used and it is great.

This was so tasty and an excellent use of leftover pork tenderloin and rice! So fast and quick! I couldn't find black bean sauce so I just used soy sauce and a little chicken broth and let it simmer down. Thanks Robin!

delicious

Flavorless Fried Rice

This recipe created the most bland prok fried rice I have ever tasted. In addition, adding the black bean sauce turned the rice a very dark brown color- not too pretty to look at.

I thought it called for way too much bean sauce. Needs a little adjustment.

This was so easy to make and my guest felt as though my "Chinese Dinner" was store bought. Loved it!

Umm.. wow.. you're not supposed to "boil" your rice in liquid when you make fried rice, and i've never seen anyone use black bean sauce like this. If you're even 10% chinese you wouldn't fry rice the way she does... I guess I have very high standard when it comes to Chinese food, but the recipe really has no authenticity

BEANS?

IF YOU'RE AN AMATEUR COOK, YOU MIGHT HAVE A HARD TIME WITH SOME OF THE INGREDIENTS, LIKE BEAN SAUCE, AND THE OIL IS VERY EXPENSIVE.

Disappointing....

I was really looking forward to this dish. Unfortunately, it lacked taste and had the consistency of mush. My husband said it was odd, but edible...my daughter asked I make her something else. I won't be making this again.

This looked so good when Robin prepared it. The black bean sauce that I purchased was an overwhelming flavor. I love foods with plenty of spice and flavor but didn't like this recipe. When I finally checked the label of the black bean sauce that I used it had 1100 mg. of sodium for 2 tbsp. Don't know what brand she used. I will probably attempt to make this again but with much, much smaller measure of black bean sauce.

Well...

For Better Taste..

I make fried rice quite often when I had leftover rice. My husband like my fried rice, and he prefer I use "fried rice powder" I get from my country japan. I just put all ingredients I want it to have and pour it over and mix well and drizzle little bit of sesami oil and no garlic or ginger and my husband is contended. You maybe can get it at Asian store but if not, still, make scrumble egg in fry pan and put leftover rice and fry them and 1table spoon of soysauce and coat the egg and rice nicely and sprinkle chopped green onion is another version I make.It is simple. If you do use chopped garlic, put oil and garlic and ginger and put veggies and scrumble egg and put leftover rice and fry the rice and put Hoisin sauce and when finished, dash of sesami oil is good. I do not use chicken broth to make fried rice because rice tends to be bit soggy. If you like little bit of spicy side, you maybe can add tiny bit of sirach into this fried rice.

The consistency was strange and the black bean sauce gave it an odd flavor. I won't be making this again but it was edible.

Great use of leftovers

We used leftover thin pork chops that were previously cooked with an Asian marinade, so they worked great with this recipe. Plus we had some extra jasmine rice, and were liberal with our ginger. The result was very tasty, and it was easy and quick to make.
