Delicious and Healthy! 06/11/2008 at 11:27am User: Becky from Edina, MN User Rating: Absolutely love this salad. Have made many times. Love the chick pea salad alone without the spinach and yogurt sauce also. Highly recommend if you like chick peas. Great with Shish Kabob! 04/22/2008 at 05:52pm User: Rima from Dearborn, MI User Rating: This recipes is great! Everybody's asking me for the recipe! i made it for a barbeque. I am middle eastern and a barbeque usually consists of shish kabob and Shish tawut (chicken). usually you have hummus with kabob. I thought i would try this recipe as a more filling alternative to hummus and i was not dissapointed. you get the great taste of hummus but with crispy greens! i love it Delicious 03/02/2008 at 02:30pm User: Claudia from West New York, NJ User Rating: I tried this out when I was fixing up a quick lunch, I didn't have mint or oranges so I just made do with the rest of the ingredients, it still tasted fantastic. I great lunch on its own or as a side dish for dinner. It looks pretty too. Not so good 01/12/2008 at 09:38pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Ewww... This must be an acquired taste but definitely not mine.. blah.. Fabulous Summer Salad 09/29/2007 at 11:11am User: Elayne from Los Angeles, CA User Rating: This salad is so easy to prepare and so tasty and delicious to keep in the fridge for a quick energy pick me up! I served it to my friends from the middle east and they loved it!!! Summer Staple 07/04/2007 at 04:06pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe has become a staple in our refrigerator as a quick, delicious and healthful snack. Everyone in my family loves it - I highly recommend! Loved it 06/15/2007 at 10:09am User: ANDREA from Dover, NH User Rating: I thought this was a great recipe. With just myself, hubby and 2 kids, we ate almost the entire dish!! Surprisingly fabulous! 06/06/2007 at 04:35pm User: DANA from Center Point, IA User Rating: I thought this recipe sounded a little odd, with the different flavors of the dressing on the chickpeas and in the yogurt--but it's SO good!! I'm really bummed that my husband polished off all the leftovers...Definately making this again very soon! Perfect blend of flavors 06/02/2007 at 11:07am User: Libby from Nashville, TN User Rating: This is an excellent salad to serve with grilled lamb chops. The flavors are very well balanced. While the yogurt sauce was good, the salad was perfect without it so it didn't really add anything. I roughly chopped the baby spinach leaves and tossed it all together to serve. Wonderful!!! WONDERFUL! 05/30/2007 at 06:23pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Will definitely make again. I loved how all of the flavors complimented each other... just delicious. It was OK but needed a bit more zing 05/27/2007 at 08:39pm User: LISA from Dundee, OR User Rating: We brought this from a bbq at a friends last night. Everyone loved it and asked from the recipe-- which is good. So why the 3-stars? I needed to punch this up a bit. I added a bit more lemon juice & a couple of tablespoons of white wine vinager and a fair amount of salt. Also added more parlsey than it called for. We did use the yogurt sauce which people liked, but I thought it was a bit odd. Lip smacking good! 05/05/2007 at 10:32pm User: PAULA from Campton, NH User Rating: Excellent salad - great flavors! Definitely go with the "optional" Yogurt with Orange Essence and mint leaves - they definitely add to the greatness of the dish. It is definitely going on my food blog www.chefitupyo.com! Refreshing! 03/06/2007 at 07:55pm User: Aneta from Union, NJ User Rating: T thought this salad was very tasty. Just instead of adding the yogurt in the salad I served it seperately. We ate it with lamb chops and it went great together. YUM! 02/16/2007 at 02:32pm User: Danika from New York, NY User Rating: So good. I loved this recipe so much it is still saved on my DVR... and it's from last season! Anyway, love the middle eastern flare. The flavors are so fresh and go so well together. I've never made anything like it before so I'm thrilled to be introduced to a new cuisine! Enjoy:) Delicious! 11/05/2006 at 09:52am User: Rochelle from State College, PA User Rating: I love tabouleh, but don't always have time for all of the chopping. This recipe is reminiscent of the middle eastern classic, but is much easier to put together. Great Chickpea Salad 09/03/2006 at 12:39pm User: carol from Port Royal, SC User Rating: This was very easy to make, tasty and good for you. I highly recommend it. Delicious and versitile! 08/28/2006 at 12:58pm User: Tracy from New York, NY User Rating: This was a great side dish with the marinated lamb chops. The orange yogurts sauce is WONDERFUL! I heated up the left over chickpea salad (no spinach) and put a poached egg on it for breakfast the next morning. I added the left over yogurt sauce to my smoothy for lunch...delicious!!!! So Good!!!!! 08/28/2006 at 12:10pm User: Kathy from Garland, TX User Rating: I made this recipe this weekend. I did not have fresh spinich so I used Butter Lettuce. My husband and I both loved it. I will be making this salad a lot. so-so 08/25/2006 at 01:25am User: Anonymous User Rating: This was pretty good, but nothing special. The star of the dish was the sweet cherry tomatoes I added. If you are going to make it, I would suggest at least doubling the parsley to give it more flavor. Very good 07/16/2006 at 02:23pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This was really good. Served it along side other middle eastern style mezes... Didn't have any oranges so replaced it with lemons. not that great 07/04/2006 at 11:15pm User: "Gail from Kansas City, MO User Rating: this looked so good on television, but when it came to making and eating it...it was disappointing. The chickpeas caused the dish to be a little dry, and the flavors didn't seem to meld very well. Yummy salad! 07/02/2006 at 04:04pm User: tracey from pace, FL User Rating: My boyfriend and I made this salad and loved it! The flavors all come together to make a very flavorful, healthy dish. (We did not do the yogurt dressing, and it was still great.) We love Ellie and her recipes! wow 06/18/2006 at 12:28am User: Anonymous User Rating: It's so easy, and made from the kind of stuff it's easy to keep on hand that this will definitely become a staple at my house! Scrumptious Healthy Salad 06/15/2006 at 10:19pm User: Barbara from Concord, CA User Rating: So easy to prepare and my entire family loved it. Gave the recipe out to several people and will definately make it again. Even better the next day and the next! Not much left by then though! Delicious......... Yummm O! 06/14/2006 at 01:52am User: Wendy from Scottsdale, AZ User Rating: This was absolutely delicious!!! I wasn't a big fan of spinach salad until I tried this recipe. The citrus flavors really popped. I substituted shallots for the red onions, and only used 1 teaspoon of olive oil because I ran out, but this came out great anyway. I plan to use this as a dip for crudites and as dressing for other salads too. This is as healthy as it gets. Disappointing 06/12/2006 at 11:30pm User: Elizabeth from Lakewood, WA User Rating: It wasn't our favorite, but my roommate's boyfriend really liked it. The orange yogurt sauce was nice and tangy. Wonderful!!!! 06/11/2006 at 11:02pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made this, but used mixed Spring greens because I didn't have spinach and it was awesome! I'm sure it will be just a good with spinach. I will make this again!!!!!! Light, fresh and tasty 06/11/2006 at 04:20pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I didn't have the stuff to make the yogurt dressing so I only made the salad....it was great. One day, I ate it alone on top of baby spinach; the next day, I added some canned, drained tuna for extra protein. Great recipe. Love this salad 06/11/2006 at 04:11pm User: kathy from Allen, TX User Rating: This chickpea salad is wonderful. Thanks for the recipe. It is creative and good. The presentation is beautiful also. Surprisingly Good 06/11/2006 at 11:17am User: Anonymous User Rating: Very Simple, quick to make. Quite tastey. Healthy too. Don't omit the sauce - it is also very good on fruit salad. Excellent 06/09/2006 at 08:01am User: Anonymous User Rating: A terrific, refreshing blend of flavors. Easy to prepare. Yet another fantastic, healthy recipe from Ellie! Deliciously Unique 06/07/2006 at 11:39am User: Anonymous User Rating: I've never written a review before, but appreciate and enjoy reading them. This is fantastic, made it with the lamb. Great for entertaining. Interesting blend of flavors. Gorgeous and Great! Love Ellie's new show! Wonderful! 06/05/2006 at 12:20am User: Margaret from Glendale, AZ User Rating: This really easy salad had the most wonderful flavors, I almost ate the whole thing! Yummy! 06/04/2006 at 05:28pm User: CYNTHIA from Morgan Hill, CA User Rating: This is colorful and delicious. I added some cherry tomato halves. Will definitely make again. The Best Take on Chick Peas ever!!! 06/03/2006 at 05:58pm User: CHERYL from New York, NY User Rating: I made this chick pea salad today with the orange yogurt sauce and it was absolutely delicous! I don't love raw spinach so I sauteed the spinach and just served the chick pea salad with the sauce as a side dish along with grilled pork loin. The combination of the lemon dressing and the yogurt orange sauce is so flavorful, bright and clean...will definitely make this again and again. And it sure beats the chick pea salad on the back of the Goya can. Thanks, Ellie! |
