Absolutely love this salad. Have made many times. Love the chick pea salad alone without the spinach and yogurt sauce also. Highly recommend if you like chick peas.

Great with Shish Kabob!

This recipes is great! Everybody's asking me for the recipe! i made it for a barbeque. I am middle eastern and a barbeque usually consists of shish kabob and Shish tawut (chicken). usually you have hummus with kabob. I thought i would try this recipe as a more filling alternative to hummus and i was not dissapointed. you get the great taste of hummus but with crispy greens! i love it

Delicious

I tried this out when I was fixing up a quick lunch, I didn't have mint or oranges so I just made do with the rest of the ingredients, it still tasted fantastic. I great lunch on its own or as a side dish for dinner. It looks pretty too.

I thought this recipe sounded a little odd, with the different flavors of the dressing on the chickpeas and in the yogurt--but it's SO good!! I'm really bummed that my husband polished off all the leftovers...Definately making this again very soon!

Perfect blend of flavors

This is an excellent salad to serve with grilled lamb chops. The flavors are very well balanced. While the yogurt sauce was good, the salad was perfect without it so it didn't really add anything. I roughly chopped the baby spinach leaves and tossed it all together to serve. Wonderful!!!

WONDERFUL!

It was OK but needed a bit more zing

We brought this from a bbq at a friends last night. Everyone loved it and asked from the recipe-- which is good. So why the 3-stars? I needed to punch this up a bit. I added a bit more lemon juice & a couple of tablespoons of white wine vinager and a fair amount of salt. Also added more parlsey than it called for. We did use the yogurt sauce which people liked, but I thought it was a bit odd.

Lip smacking good!

Excellent salad - great flavors! Definitely go with the "optional" Yogurt with Orange Essence and mint leaves - they definitely add to the greatness of the dish. It is definitely going on my food blog www.chefitupyo.com!

T thought this salad was very tasty. Just instead of adding the yogurt in the salad I served it seperately. We ate it with lamb chops and it went great together.

So good. I loved this recipe so much it is still saved on my DVR... and it's from last season! Anyway, love the middle eastern flare. The flavors are so fresh and go so well together. I've never made anything like it before so I'm thrilled to be introduced to a new cuisine! Enjoy:)

I love tabouleh, but don't always have time for all of the chopping. This recipe is reminiscent of the middle eastern classic, but is much easier to put together.

This was a great side dish with the marinated lamb chops. The orange yogurts sauce is WONDERFUL! I heated up the left over chickpea salad (no spinach) and put a poached egg on it for breakfast the next morning. I added the left over yogurt sauce to my smoothy for lunch...delicious!!!!

This was pretty good, but nothing special. The star of the dish was the sweet cherry tomatoes I added. If you are going to make it, I would suggest at least doubling the parsley to give it more flavor.

Very good

This was really good. Served it along side other middle eastern style mezes... Didn't have any oranges so replaced it with lemons.

this looked so good on television, but when it came to making and eating it...it was disappointing. The chickpeas caused the dish to be a little dry, and the flavors didn't seem to meld very well.

This was absolutely delicious!!! I wasn't a big fan of spinach salad until I tried this recipe. The citrus flavors really popped. I substituted shallots for the red onions, and only used 1 teaspoon of olive oil because I ran out, but this came out great anyway. I plan to use this as a dip for crudites and as dressing for other salads too. This is as healthy as it gets.

Disappointing

I didn't have the stuff to make the yogurt dressing so I only made the salad....it was great. One day, I ate it alone on top of baby spinach; the next day, I added some canned, drained tuna for extra protein. Great recipe.

The Best Take on Chick Peas ever!!!

User: CHERYL from New York, NY    User Rating:
I made this chick pea salad today with the orange yogurt sauce and it was absolutely delicous! I don't love raw spinach so I sauteed the spinach and just served the chick pea salad with the sauce as a side dish along with grilled pork loin. The combination of the lemon dressing and the yogurt orange sauce is so flavorful, bright and clean...will definitely make this again and again. And it sure beats the chick pea salad on the back of the Goya can. Thanks, Ellie!
