I love deserts so I first tried the Monkey Bread and it was incredible. Would recoment to pour some of the sugar, butter and the nut mixure in before you put the first layer and in every layer after that... It gives it a nice carmel coat through out. But I loved it... When I tried the Gorilla bread for a party everyone (including people that where on a Diet) tried it and had seconds... I smelld, looked and tasted great. Everyone even asked for the recepie. Thank you so much for this recepie.

Not sure about this one

I was encouraged by other reviews so I tried the gorilla bread recipe. I found I didn't have enough biscuits to even complete a second layer as the recipe states. I had way too much sugar/cinnamon mixture and butter/brown sugar mixture compared to biscuits. I used a standard bundt pan as directed, however, I could have used a rectangle bread pan with better results I am sure. Maybe if I had doubled the recipe by using more biscuits..with the same amount of layering ingredients it would have been better.

Awesomely Delicious

Very easy and yummy! I made this with my 9 year old daughter and she had a blast. Also, we used the layered biscuits for a second batch. Those gave it a nice crispiness on the outside edges.

This will absolutely be a returning dish at holidays. However I was not crazy about the gorilla bread, it almost tasted like it was not fully cooked through- but it was really just the cream cheese. Other than that it was probably the best dessert I've made in a while.

This was an extremely simple recipe to make. My 4 year old helped. She had a great time smashing the biscuits. And what fun would cooking or baking be if you couldn't get a little messy in the process! Anyway, I made it Saturday afternoon and it was gone by Sunday afternoon. (There are 5 people living in my house so I am proud to say it wasn't just me)

Have had monkey bread a number of times, but never gorilla bread. EEEEKS! This recipe for monkey bread is delicious....the gorilla bread was horrid. I really thought I'd like the cream cheese "surprise" but it was ucka ucka. Couldn't stand it, through it away....sure wish I could rate these two recipes separately.

"GMA" had a recipe for monkey bread a couple of years ago. What a time consuming mess. I haven't made it since then. This recipe is so easy, especially alternate layering with butter/sugar/cinnamon. A keeper of a recipe!!!

I made the gorilla bread and took one of the rater's tip by pouring some of the butter/sugar mixture on the pan before layering the biscuits... this was an amazing breakfast and/or snack (if you have any leftovers from breakfast)! It was super simple to prepare and the presentation was impressive. CAUTION: It's addicting! Thanks for the recipe!

The monkey bread was fantastic but I don't think I would make the gorilla bread again. I think it would have been better had the cream cheese been sweetened or given a flavor.

Since I only made the gorilla bread, I can only rate it. But I think the recipe instructions may need a bit of tweaking. I had to put the cream cheese in the biscuit THEN roll it in the cinnamon sugar and pinch it closed. Otherwise, if you get sugar on the "inside" of the "seams"...hard to pinch close.

This recipe really shows well and tastes really good. I toast the nuts and I put in a shaped bundt pan which makes it show well. The effort is minimal for this one. My family loves it. When they visit for Mardi gras, they prefer this over the King cakes.
