After reading the reviews I tried this and put my own spin on it, because I wanted a little more texture. So I add Romano cheese, celery chunks and a can of chicken breast (flaked). I used 3 different large wraps; Italian, tomatoe basil and honey wheat. Very pretty, filling and everyone loved it!! Thanks Paula.

This was great as is but, as some others have said you can do endless things with this cream cheese base. I have made this a few times now and once I added a chipoltle taco seasoning to it--wonderful flavor! You could make it Italian with Parm. cheese and pine nuts. Endless possibilities! Thanks Paula

I've served these at two parties per the recipe and they have been a hit. I've made them at home with roast beef and shredded chicken, both were good. Another good substitution was one of the pre-packaged lettuce mixes instead of the spinach. This added some crunchyness to it.

User: Cynthia from Huntsville, AL    User Rating:
As always we can depend on Ms. Paula. we added a little fresh onion (diced), and some canned chicken, and the store was completely out of green chiles so we just used rotel and skipped the salsa. They really turned out great. i halved the recipe and it made enough for everyone and then some. i think next time i will definitely chill before serving.

Looked better on TV
07/20/2006 at 04:14pm
User: Lisa from Philadelphia, PA    User Rating:
These were ok, but they looked better on TV. I liked the spread part of these, but not as much on the soft tortillas. I actually took some flour tortillas, sprayed them with a little olive oil cooking spray and baked them at 350 degrees F for about 15 min. I preferred this dip/spread with crunchy tortillas rather than the soft ones. The spread itself had a nice flavor, but this was not as good as I had hoped and I am surprised this is getting a 5-star rating.

Very Good

I made these wraps for 4th of July as an appetizer. They were just the right thing to serve before dinner. They were light, tasty and just enough chili to give the tongue a little bite to complement the wine coolers I served. I will make them again at any time of the year.

This is a simple, fun hors d'oeuvre that's really tasty! I fixed these for a get-together last night, and they were a hit. I used the basic recipe for some--for others I added a thin strip of deli ham. I imagine there would be lots of variations for this sour cream mixture base. But, as is, it's delicious!

These were great!

User: JEANNE from Brook Park, OH    User Rating:
Luckily when I saw Paula make these on the show, I had all the ingredients but one in my fridge so I whipped up a batch. I used the large burrito-size flour tortillas that come 8 to a package and there was enough filling to fill all 16 with a little left over. I didn't have salsa but did have taco sauce and used that instead. These are good as-is but I agree; you could layer on whatever deli meats, cheeses and veggies you had in your fridge and make meal-size wraps out of them.

So many possibilites !!

User: marlene from sanford, NC    User Rating:
Used whole wheat tortillas. Made the cream cheese and sour cream mixture and added a little dill to the mixture. Then layered on baby spinach, thinly sliced cucumbers, sliced roma tomatoes, and deli sliced turkey breast. Great wrap!! So many possibilites using the sour cream & cream cheese mixture as the base.

Store bought tortillas tend to be doughy. Try toasting them on both sides before loading the wraps. The recipe is excellent as is but we added canned salmon. YUM!

Great Flavor for Summer
06/04/2007 at 11:41am
User: carol from new windsor, NY    User Rating:
I immediately tried Mrs. Dean's Santa Fe Wraps recipe... the flavor was fantastic! I did find it a bit too creamy, however, I tried adding shredded chicken and it was a great no cook sandwich wrap (Santa Fe Burritos?)! For my vegetarian friends I added whole lettuce leaves and they were thrilled! It is great as a dip for bread (like a spicy spinach dip) or vegetables. This will definitely be a staple recipe for summer. Thank you for the useful and real life recipe.

I change a few things that make a big difference.I add chicken. After I roll up the tortilla then I tightly roll it in saran wrap. Then put them in the fridge for at least 8 hours. When ready to serve cut in pieces, serve with sour cream and salsa. They taste so much better after they have sat (otherwise kind of bland).

So versatile!

User: Jeane from Bellevue, WA    User Rating:
Paula's wraps were perfect for a potluck! Later I made them into Greek wraps. I substituted chopped cucumber for the canned chilies, feta for the jack cheese, and added chopped gyro meat patties I get from the gyro stand at the food court or Cash 'n Carry. I keep in the spinach and add very thinly sliced tomato. Roll them up and serve with a plain yogurt, minced cucumber and dill sauce. Both ways are yummers!

These are great!

User: gail from nashotah, WI    User Rating:
I made these exactly as the recipe stated, and everyone loved them! I'm always amazed when people change ingredients and then give recipes poor ratings. If you use pepper jack cheese as the recipe states, and medium to hot salsa, these are hardly bland! This is the type of recipe that can appeal to those who love things mild, or love them hot - just use either mild or hot canned chilis and salsa. I cut them into smaller pieces to serve as appetizers.

They were delicious per the recipe and I can only imagine how good they would be with a little spicy chicken and some black beans added. I am anxious to make them again and maybe experiment a little with other ingredients. Way to go Paula!! I am anxious to hear about other wraps or foods that will last all day for weekend tournaments again!!!

I just made this wrap recipe. It is so awesome! I mixed all the ingredients except the spinach and added the spinach leaves to each individual wrap. That way you probably get a little more nutritional value. Next time I will get whole wheat tortillas. This recipe is so good it could be used as a dip, a baked potato topper or a topping for bagels! You could also make pinwheels out of the wraps and serve as finger food for a party. Great recipe!
