Sandra's ribs are lovely! 12/13/2006 at 06:21pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I added a little cognac to the marinade and a little more to the sauce and they were grate. Yummo! The ribs were tough and the sauce tasted like paint thinner 12/07/2006 at 12:27pm User: Anonymous User Rating: These were very bad; possibly the worst ever. the ribs were pale and anemic looking 12/06/2006 at 06:38pm User: Anonymous User Rating: they did not brown up well and cooking for 1 hr 45 min left them very dry. Very tough 08/14/2006 at 01:04pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The meat was very tough and the marinade left the ribs with a very strange taste that no one liked. Skip this recipe. Very subpar 08/01/2006 at 02:57pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The meat was extremely chewy and tough and the taste was a confusing asault of flavors that didn't go well together. Tangerine Teriyaki Ribs 07/19/2006 at 08:38pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I am not experienced with cooking ribs. I love ribs. This recipe was simple and the meat was sooooooooo tender, however I baked it a bit longer in the oven then suggested with great results. I could not find tangerine juice in my local grocery stores so I substituted apricot juice and it was still good. I felt it lacked something in the taste so the next time I prepare them I am going to spice it up with a different flavor of BBQ sauce and perhaps a different marinade flavor. Overall...great recipe! rib delight 07/18/2006 at 10:17pm User: Anonymous User Rating: this is a very simple but delicious dish Very, very tough 07/18/2006 at 02:02pm User: Sharleen from Chicago, IL User Rating: These ribs came out very tough and dry, while also being somewhat fatty. We like more tender, succulant ribs so will use another recipe. Or will boil them first. Made a complete mess 07/17/2006 at 08:27pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I don't think you're supposed to use the hickory chips in the oven. These ribs were very tough 07/17/2006 at 04:51pm User: Lois from Fridley, MN User Rating: I didn't use anything but regular BBQ sauce and still they were sooooooo tough. Very Disappointing 07/17/2006 at 01:01pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Both the flavor and the incredible toughness of the ribs left us very disappointed. They were almost too tough to eat. great flavors in the sauce and I liked this cooking method 07/17/2006 at 02:47am User: Anonymous User Rating: The hickory made the ribs extra tasty and they were fall off the bone tender! Unfortunate mix of flavors 07/16/2006 at 10:16pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The tangerine and teriyaki and BBQ sauce weren't that great together. I'll stick with plain BBQ sauce next time and use her other rib recipe instead. great ribs 07/15/2006 at 03:00pm User: Anonymous User Rating: loved them. thanks for sharing such a great rib recipe 07/15/2006 at 01:14pm User: Anonymous User Rating: My guests were very outspoken about how delicious these were! perfection on a paper plate! 07/15/2006 at 12:15pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Gotta love these. Mine came out perfectly tender too. blue ribbon ribs! 07/15/2006 at 11:53am User: Anonymous User Rating: THe combination of flavors is great with these, and they turn out so immeasurably tender. satisfying! 07/14/2006 at 11:46pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I really liked these ribs as did my son. I didn't have any trouble with them being too tough. Don't know why. I cooked them as the recipe suggested and they were tender and so good. these are the best 07/14/2006 at 11:06pm User: Anonymous User Rating: ribs My hubby made these for me 07/14/2006 at 10:43pm User: Anonymous User Rating: by request because I thought the glaze sounded good. He had to agree that these rivaled his best ribs!! They were fall of the bone tender (2 1/2 hours cooking time does that to meat!) and so tasty. These were some mean tasting ribs 07/14/2006 at 09:47pm User: Anonymous User Rating: everybody LOVED them. YUMMY! The marinade rocks. tender and 07/14/2006 at 09:22pm User: Anonymous User Rating: terrific tasting! not run-of-the-mill 07/14/2006 at 08:41pm User: Anonymous User Rating: though run-of-the-mill ribs are good, these were better for sure! Highly recommended ribs! Definitely not recommended. 07/14/2006 at 11:32am User: Anonymous User Rating: These were just so awful, I don't know where to start. They tasted terrible, they burned while grilling thanks to all the sauce, they weren't done in the time given and they were very very tough. Definitely not recommended. Very disappointing 07/14/2006 at 11:22am User: Anonymous User Rating: Especially comapared to her other yummy rib recipe :-( Flavorless and Tough 07/14/2006 at 11:05am User: Anonymous User Rating: We couldn't pick up the flavor people mention here, but do agree that these ribs were very, very tough. No one would eat them 07/14/2006 at 10:59am User: Anonymous User Rating: We prefer tender "fall off the bone" type ribs. These were not. We also did not care for the ginger marinade, especially wioth the tomato BBQ sauce we used. No one would eat these, even my 2 teenage sons. The worst ribs I've ever tasted 07/14/2006 at 10:55am User: Anonymous User Rating: The taste of these ribs is amazingly awful!!!! all right!! 07/14/2006 at 12:04am User: Anonymous User Rating: great. made these and loved um. amazingly tender 07/13/2006 at 11:30pm User: Anonymous User Rating: and so good. Thanks Sandra! I'd never BBQ'd with hickory chips before 07/13/2006 at 09:10pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I don't know if it was the hickory chips or the outstanding glaze that made these so good. I guess it was the combination of both! perfect flavor combo 07/13/2006 at 08:51pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I thought these flavors sounded like they would mesh well together, so I tried these. They SO did!!! Thanks for the great dishes semi-homemade! Frighteningly Bad 07/11/2006 at 02:11pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Ginger teriyaki is great. BBQ sauce is great. Citrus is ok, too. But together they tasted very, very, very bad. She should bottle and market this 07/10/2006 at 10:21pm User: Anonymous User Rating: tangerine teriyaki glaze. It'd be hard to keep the shelves stocked I bet. It's that good!!! good thought 07/10/2006 at 10:05pm User: Anonymous User Rating: to combine citus and teriyaki we though. These were outrageous! lots of flavor 07/10/2006 at 05:50pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Lots of flavor - excellent. Not to my taste or that of anyone I ate with 07/10/2006 at 04:10pm User: Anonymous User Rating: It's possible that it's just us but my family found this dish too sweet and a little gummy. Tasted Terrible! 07/10/2006 at 12:37pm User: Dyannna from Seal Beach, CA User Rating: The ribs tasted horrible. Teriyaki and BBQ sauce are a bad combination but then when you add the juice (I had to use orange) you have something quite sickening on your hands. These turned out so tough! 07/10/2006 at 11:13am User: Anonymous User Rating: And what a strange taste -- that would take some getting used to. I am going back to her other falling-off-the-bone tender rib recipe. It's superb. This one isn't. I really thought these 07/09/2006 at 06:03pm User: Anonymous User Rating: were a bit offputting. great combo of flavors 07/09/2006 at 04:22pm User: Anonymous User Rating: loved the sauce too. my husband loved these 07/09/2006 at 04:03pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Thanks! Texture was Horrible 03/27/2007 at 02:34pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The meat was, in fact, very tough but also had an unappetizing mealiness to it. The sauce was just amazingly bad -- tastewise -- and was also essentially a pool of grease. mushy meat 01/30/2007 at 11:15am User: Gala from Joshua, RI User Rating: not good at all Inedible 01/28/2007 at 11:49pm User: Bonnie from Kenner, LA User Rating: The citrus marinade turned the meat to pulp. Two hours cooking and it was still raw in the center. This was inedible. We like our ribs "falling off the bone" so these didn't work for us 01/26/2007 at 11:54am User: Anonymous User Rating: These ribs cooked up much too tough for us. We sort of liked the taste of the sauce but it was very greasy and a funny orange color that didn't look too good. Tough 01/22/2007 at 03:54pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Very tough ribs. Had hard time gnawing meat off the bone. The sauce was greasy and didn't taste all that great. |
