I wanted to do something different with asparagus, and something that didn't take too much time to put together. I saw this recipe and decided to give it a try. My daughther who loves cheese but not asparagus loved it this concoction. We stuck with the exact recipe, but will try the Herb cheese ( as another reader recommended) when we eat this again.

This dish took me a little more time than I thought it would, but I add t. herb cream cheese to the prosciutto. Spreading it on befor I added the asparagus then rolled. It was amazing.

I made this as a side dish/appetizer and even my daughter in law, (who doesn't like asparagus at all!), loved it! We all did. The only thing I did additionally was to place thin slices of smoked mozzarella on top of the bundle before drizzling the wonderful balsamic glaze over everything. It was a big hit and I'll definitely be making this one again.

This recipe caught my eye while I was watching the show "Ham On The Street". It looked easy to prepare and elegant to serve. And at home it is both of these and more. The asparagus is very light and the prosciutto adds a lovely rich flavor. This was my first time using or having prosciutto and I was not disappointed. Use a good olive oil and the balsamic glaze brings the whole dish together. It's beautiful on the plate and it is melt in your mouth goodness. Even my husband who dislikes asparagus had second helpings!
