After reading the previous reviews I had higher hopes for this burger. It was good, but nothing fantastic. However, the tomato sauce was a nice addition and something different from regular ketchup. I don't think I'll make this one again. I've made a similar recipe that turned out much more moist with fuller flavor.

Wow! These were awesome! My husband loves to grill, so I am always trying to find new things for him! These were a little too spicy for our taste, but they were still really good! Also, the ketchup is awesome! I don't know if I'll ever be able to use just regular ketchup ever again! I had to put some corn starch in it to thicken it up some though. Way way good though!

These burgers were absolutely fantastic. I wasn't able to find fire-roasted tomatoes, so I just used regular and the ketchup was still great. I've also been reading Jessica Seinfeld's book 'Deceptively Delicious', and decided to squeeze in some extra veggies by adding 1/2 cup cauliflower puree to these burgers. I couldn't even tell it was in there, but the burgers were so moist and juicy! The smoked cheddar is a must with these burgers...all of the flavors work together so well.

I made this for dinner tonight and both me and my boyfriend really enjoyed it. I wouldn't suggest any changes. Great with homemade french-fries!

Super tasty and young and old alike raved. Made them regular size on substantial buns. Wound up with extra meat(doubled the recipe) and wound up making empanadas the next day (after adding some additional exotic ingredients). It really works well as a picadillo too!

This is the best burger I have ever eaten. My family thought they had died and gone to Heaven. I couldn't find the fire roasted tomatoes, but who cares?? I didn't make the ketchup sauce. No need to go amy farther past the burgers. Unreal!

This is a delicious recipe. The combination of sauces and spices are perfect. I took an early retirement last year and have been hooked on Food Network ever since. I have been trying for 33 years to make my husband love my cooking more than he did my moms. This and so many of the Food Network recipes are getting me closer to obtaining my goal! Thanks!

This is a simple dish to make but so delicious and flavourful... I added a little soy sauce, salt and pepper and some chopped parsley to the burger mixture and it turned out great. The ketchup is awesome and is a must with this burger... Definitely a keeper..

Had these for dinner tonight looking for something a little different. Delicious was the comment from my family. Only problem could not find the fire roasted tomatoes in a can, so I used crushed tomatoes, looking forward to try again w/the roasted tomatoes for the fire taste, Will make again ! :)

I grilled these last night, but normal size. When I make small burgers I use dinner rolls, or toast Hawaiian dinner rolls and rub with cut garlic cloves to balance the slight sweetness of those rolls. Guests love it when I have a bunch of tiny burbers along with brats and/or chicken, so they can get a taste without having to down a whole big burger. Hello to my new go-to burger recipe. Good-bye to my onion soup recipe! Don't forget the ketchup! You'll never have regular on the table again. Way to go, Rach!!!

I made these--full size (and as someone else said, make certain you have good quality buns) along with the 7 layer dip for a card game. Everyone loved them. In combination with the dip it's a perfect amount of food. I think the way RR made them would be great for an outdoor party when the weather starts to get cool. That way they can be done on the grill. Wonderful recipe exactly as is.

These are sooooo good! A burger kicked up a notch - just how I like my food. I coudn't find mini buns so I made the burgers regular size and I used 3 chiles since we like things spicy. These have a wonderful smokey flavor. I almost didn't make the ketchup because it sounded weird to me but because of the reviews here I decide to try it. THE KETCHUP MAKES THE BURGER - it is so tangy and delicious! My husband LOVED these and he is about as picky as a 3 yr old. Thanks Rachael!!

These aren't just any burger! Everyone loved the smokey flavor and the homemade ketchup was a hit! Do not skip out on the ketchup...it does make the burger.

The burgers smell wonderful while cooking due to the chipotles! Very spicy but they are a good spicy and the ketchup really helps tone it down. The ketchup will seem too vinegary on the stove but it is not. Pairs very well with the burgers.

I made these as regular sized hamburgers. It made 6 nice sized burgers. My market did not have the crushed fire roasted tomatoes but I did find chopped fire roasted tomatoes with green chiles. It made the ketchup spicy, but good.

This recipe is wonderful. I used ground turkey instead of the beef and they were wonderful. I didn't do the ketchup but it was still great without it (maybe next time). I also made some with and some without the cheese... again wonderful. It's a great quick & easy way to jazz up a burger! Thanks!!

My friends are still raving about these burgers. Rachael is definitely the queen of burgers!. I made these full size, you need a sturdy bun. The ketchup is a must and the smoked cheese. All the flavors come together perfectly. Will defintely make again and again!!!

This recipe is great! I made the burgers regular size and they were moist and had just enough spice to make them stand out. I was unsure of the ketchup but I made it anyway and let me tell you.. it was good! I added a chipolte in adobe to the ketchup just to make it a little spicer and it worked well with the burgers. These burgers are a favorite meal in our house!
