great cake! 12/17/2006 at 11:48am User: Alyce from Stuart, FL User Rating: This cake was moist & delicious. The only thing I would change would be to fold the chopped apple into the batter and then pour into the pan, rather than layer the two as the recipe suggests. delightful 11/13/2006 at 12:48pm User: evelyn from brooklyn, NY User Rating: My children loved it. Will make again, and again............ Best Fall Cake! 11/08/2006 at 08:40am User: Suzanne from Canaan, NY User Rating: This cake is very easy to make. The presentation also adds to the enjoyment of making this cake. My family loved this cake, especially my husband. I don't expect it to last very long! Too much like spice cake 11/07/2006 at 09:09am User: Anonymous User Rating: I personally did not like this cake. It came out beautifully but i did not expect it to take so much like a spice cake. I was thinking with the apples in the cake, it would taste like apple. it made a beautiful appearance with the carmel & pecan topping but it just didn't seem to "go with" the taste of the cake. Cornbread with apples 11/03/2007 at 06:18pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The cake was super dry and not sweet at all. The only thing good about this were the apples. I won't be making this again. very good 11/02/2006 at 04:35pm User: Leon from Chicago, IL User Rating: if you like baking try this. Can't get enough 11/02/2006 at 02:12pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Still new to baking, this was pretty easy and a hit at our halloween party. This sweet cake is also good the next day. It's a hit! Fall Beauty 10/27/2006 at 07:35pm User: Ida from Fremont, CA User Rating: Made for a PTO Cake Walk, was the best money getter of the day... he loved it!!! 10/26/2006 at 12:56pm User: Dawn from Marion Jct, AL User Rating: made this for my husband's birthday and he just loved it. got better with age. thanks. Loved it! 10/23/2006 at 12:37pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I agree w/the other review regarding the batter consistency; it was pretty sticky and a little hard to put in the bunt pan. Some of my apple was kind of sticking out at the end. However, it came out sooo good! I made the cake the day before and the caramel sauce the night I served it. It was hot and gooey and really delicious. carmel apple cake 10/21/2006 at 11:53pm User: tracey from rockwall, TX User Rating: I did the recipe 2 times. The batter is more like a bread consistency. Not enough batter for the amount of apples it calls for. ON MY THIRD TRY...... I added 1 cup more flour, 3/4 cup more sugar, 1 extra egg, 3/4 cup of oil. Then I lowered the amount to 3 apples and added 1 cup chopped pecans to apple mixture...NOW YOU HAVE A FIVE STAR CAKE. Excellent! 09/30/2007 at 09:53pm User: Brian from momence, IL User Rating: This was excellent. Turned out well, I would however suggest just mixing the apple into the batter as its a tad annoying layering the cake! Its very easy for anyone...Caramel was good but I think walnuts would have went better, and almost mix those with the batter as well... enjoy Not The Best 05/16/2007 at 10:07pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This cake was one of the worst apple cakes I have ever made. The "frosting" was difficult and can not be kept for more than just one day,it was runny and slid down the cake.I will not make it again! |
