Tastes Great!

This definitely needs to "marry" flavors in the fridge for a couple hours after mixing. It took me at least 40 minutes to caramelize the onions as directed, so make sure to allow extra time. I also added a splash of worcestershire sauce and some chives. Taste it first with the chip/cracker you are going to use before you adjust the seasonings, as an extra salty chip will make the dip seem too salty.

For an extra 20 minutes of your time, you will not be disappointed when making this recipe instead of throwing together the packaged onion dip mix. This recipe is so flavorful and creamy, it goes fast at get-togethers.

Absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS!

I made this for my husbands 30th birthday party and what a hit! It was so good that i had to put it in the back of the refrigerator so that it would actually make it to the party! I didnt have enough sage on hand, so i added some thyme into it as well and it was fantastic. I'll never buy the lipton onion dip again.

Make copies of this one...

I have made this dip many times with tons of success.... Every time I make it I always get asked for the recipe (super simple, which is nice) A million times better than using a dry mix and only a little more difficult... Works well in large batches if you are having a larger get together or if you are making some for people to take with them...

Amazing!!!

Made this dip for both my kids birthday parties and it was a huge hit!!! The flavor is so amazing-- I'll never use the MSG filled onion soup mix again!!!

This dip was completely different than any onion dip I have had before. Instead of a salty soup mix dip, it was sweet and really good.

My guests went at this like locusts!

I used this dip with baked pita chips, a veggie platter and kettle chips for a party. I made a double batch and it was gone in an hour. It was a hit.

If you like French Onion Dip then you'll like this. I love that it doesn't leave an onion breath after eating it. It was quick and so easy to make. I would never have believed it until I made it myself... even my twin 12 year olds and my 14 year old likes it.

Thanks So Much!

I made this dip for my twin sons birthday party yesterday and it was gone from the table in a flash. It was so easy to make and it taught me how to camelize onions. Again, thanks for the dip and the lesson. Cecile Bronx, NY

Once you've had this, you will NEVER go back to the over-salted soup mix and sour cream mixture again! You will not be disappointed!!

I made this recipe for a Super Bowl party and it was a big hit. My only criticism would be that it was too salty. I would suggest season to taste.

Pretty Good

Be patient with the onions...carmelizing takes a while. The Lipton dip is too salty. this is just right. Try adding worcestershire sauce, it adds a little dimension.

Wonderful

This dip blends so well after a few hours in the fridge. My only changes were to use 75/25 sour cream/mayo ... not really a mayo fan. Also important to season the onions while they cook. This was a HUGE hit. Thanks Dan & Steve - you guys are the best!

Goodbye Lipton's Onion Dip

This takes a little extra time, but is well worth it, for your family or company. Tastes nothing like any standard onion dip, not surprising, as the ingredients are fresh & completely different.
