I was a little skeptical about this recipe because I'm not big on fried vegetables, but this had a very crisp, buttery taste that was also light. I will definitely make this again.

Great way to get kids to eat their veggies!

Personally, I have never used cauliflower in cooking---ever. Can't stand the taste or smell of it, or so I thought. This was GREAT! My kids loved it, even.

The Parmesan and Brocolli bits were extremely heavy. They soaked up so much oil that they became extremely greasy! I'm normally a huge fan of Giada's recipes, but this is not one of them.

Easy to make. Great taste!

Light and Lemony with an unexpected salty kick

User: Lisa from Darlington, PA    User Rating:
I tried this recipe and it turned out great. Very yummy. It's healthy and satisfies my craving for something a little salty and fried. Make sure you really coat the broccoli and cauliflower thoroughly with egg or your cheese won't stick. Have patience while waiting for each side of the florets to brown, I turned my first batch too soon and the cheese fell off :(

This recipe was easy to make and tasted delicious. It's a great way to trick kids into eating vegetables. They can't really figure out what it is. It's also a good way to trick a finacky husband into eating cheese (he claims he doesn't like cheese).

User: BETSIE from Northridge, CA    User Rating:
I tried this last night to the rave reviews of my husband. The taste of the Parm cheese with the crunch of the vegetables were great. I did not use the salad or dressing but just had them for our vegetable. My husband thought I had made too many but we ate them all! One way to get children to eat their vegetables. I also used a combo of olive oil and canola and that worked out fine.

Wonderful Dressing!

User: Kristin from Ivyland, PA    User Rating:
The idea of this salad is wonderful, but I couldn't get the broccoli and cauliflower "crispy." Instead, it was just a tad soggy. HOWEVER, if I had cook it earlier in the day and really let it dry (replacing the paper towels a time or two), I'm thinking that maybe it would have come out better. We still enjoyed it though, and will try it again with a different approach.

This salad was as refreshing as it was filling. I had doubts at first that this salad would fill me up because it had very few ingredients, but to my surprise the parmesan fried veggies were the perfect topper to the salad and the lemon dressing made it perfect for summer! This was a wonderful alternative to fried chicken salad.

This is the best salad I've had since I returned from Rome last year. I made it precisely to specifications and it was so good. The vegetables still had a crunch and the parmesan was delicious. I love the Roman flair for making a salad into a meal. It's going into the "make again" file.

Tasty, but...

User: Vidita from Ventura, CA    User Rating:
It was really tasty and well received by my friends. However, it left a really bad smell in the kitchen, and pretty much the whole apartment. I think it was because of the parmesan cheese in oil. Any suggestions to get around this?

I haven't tried this recipe; however, I love parm cheese. I will definitely give this one a try. I think with the reviews read that I will try the baking idea that was suggested. I have also to agree with Lucy. I have said before and I will say again. She needs to wear something that will keep her a little more covered up. I have since been seeing Rachael Ray doing the Same thing. Girls, you are on a cooking show!

vegies
02/26/2007 at 12:21pm
User: Anonymous    User Rating:
Vegies are so much better when baked at 350 to 375 for 10 min. Flavor of cheese and vegies taste great and without the mess of frying. I tried both methods and my family rates the "bake method" higher and as a added bonus it has fewer calories. Just remember to spray the tray so sticking won't happen. Happy cooking. I tried the veggies & they were wonderful! I will try roasting them the next time. Also, I was a little discouraged to see that someone would actually post on Giada's appearance. She is a beautiful, vibrant, & healthy looking woman & they dress her like a woman in her 30's should be dressing. It's strange that someone would comment on that. It's not like she wears scandalous blouses. None of the children in my home have ever even commented on her "cleavage". So, please Food Network, don't change they way she dresses! She is simply adorable.

User: JAIME from Williamsville, NY    User Rating:
This was very good but I did alter it a bit because there is something about greasy fried vegetables that does not appeal to me. I tossed the florets with olive oil and parmesan cheese and roasted them in a single layer on a baking sheet at 425 degrees for 18-20 minutes. It was very good atop the lemon dressed greens with no oily mess.

I haven't tried this yet, decided to read reviews first and am disappointed that people would comment on Giada's personal appearance. The whole program is beautiful, including the hostess. I do not find her feminine appearance the least bit offensive, and think her style reflects her heritage. This wife and mother of three feels inspired by Giada to make beautiful meals and embrace my own beauty rather than feel ashamed of a little cleavage.

I have to agree with you Lucy, Giada's tops are very revealing. My children love to watch cooking shows with me but I sometimes have to DVR Giada's episodes and watch them when they are not home. She is beautiful, but it is unfortunate that she has to dress so inappropriately.
