This was good. The flavor of the liquid used for steaming was strong, so choose wisely.

Great with steaks!

We made this recipe the day after Christmas when we were all sick of the ham and stuffing! It turned out wonderful!!! We thought the crab went better without the butter, but I made it anyway. No one even touched the drawn butter; the crab is rich and flavorful by itself!

Fantastic legs!!!!

This recipe was outstanding! The legs had tremendous flavor. We cooked 8lbs of legs whole, we did not split as the recipe stated. The end result was... awesome! We cooked the legs whole for 13 mins and it worked well. Not having any "premium ale" on hand, we used Miller Lite. We also used a turkey fryer and cooked 4lbs at a time. When cooking 4lbs, more than one head of garlic is needed.

Wow! I used a light corona, limes, and then added a bit of pesto to the melted butter- just for variety! Simple and a great meal in under 20 minutes!

I did this twice the best way to do this I think is grab your fav cheep beer. I did it with ale ??? I also did lite beer. Great all the way around. I will say the lite beer was just as good and I had extra when the crab was done :). Would give it a 4 star scale. Easy to do and the family loved it.

Very easy recipe with just a hint of lemon and garlic noticable. I used a lightly hopped lager (Bud) rather than an ale and the legs turned out wonderful.

Follow the recipe and the result was perfect. I didn't separate the legs just, throught them in whole and just like everyone said butter was not needed at all. This is recipe is easy and sure to please. Enjoy

These were great. I used 2 bottles of pale ale and 2 lemons, as well as the garlic...that amount was plenty for my steamer. Other reviewers were right, the drawn butter wasn't needed - they were sweet enough!

Excellent!

These crab legs were so sweet and melt in your mouth. I can't believe steaming a little beer, lemon and garlic could have such a great result.

great crab

I served this at a New Year's Eve dinner party, but would be good any time of the year! I used Corona beer and a little more garlic than recipe called for. I put the joints in the bottom of pot, which worked out well; the joints tend to be the fishy bits, but they turned out to be beer soaked yummy bits and not so fishy! Great alternative to just steam with water.
