The BEST gravy!

This makes the best gravy - but I had to thin it out quite a lot in the end. I would use less roux to start...but the herbs and broth prepared properly, really brought out the juicy turkey flavor. We paired this with a fried turkey - a big hit.

Tyler got it right. Only gravy I will make from now on. I am not a fan of thyme so I didn't use it and the gravy still had good flavor without it.

better than the pan gravy my sister made!

My sis cooked the bird this Thanksgiving. I offered to bring the "extra" gravy--this recipe. Even sis agreed that this was the best gravy on the table. I used plenty of butter to help the wings brown, and I saved the pan drippings in the pan, placing it in the fridge while I made the broth. To make the gravy, I deglazed the pan with about 1/4 C. port wine. Followed the recipe, otherwise. Yum!

Tyler's video made this recipe easy to follow. Everyone loved the gravy sauce. I'll make it again next year.

In the end, it came out great. I did have to save it by using less of the broth to make it thicker and added the turkey drippings (from the actual turkey) for more flavor. You can't just dump all of that broth in the pot and expect it to thicken up with the roux. You have to add a little at a time and stop adding it when it looks thick enough. You may have to make a second batch and combine them as I did.

Too time consuming for too little flavor

My husband and I used all the recipes for Tyler's Ultimate Thanksgiving this year. We loved everything BUT this; it was a poor excuse for gravy. Sorry Tyler!

I used Tyler's recipe to make gravy for this year's Thanksgiving dinner and everyone ranted and raved - it is DELICIOUS!! I roasted the turkey wings then following the recipe, added everything to a pot and simmered for 2 hours - exactly as Tyler's recipe indicated. The only difference was I added more water, since I needed a lot of gravy. I strained the broth and refrigerated it until Thanksgiving morning. I made the roux and added the turkey stock until the gravy was thick enough, then put that batch into a crock pot and made another roux, again adding stock until the gravy was the right consistancy. Maybe my way took a little extra time but my gravy was perfect! What little was left after dinner got sopped up with bread as a late snack! I gave out 9 copies of this recipe and am definitely adding it to my recipe file to use again and again. THANK YOU, TYLER!!!!!

Turkey Soup - Not Turkey Gravy

It didn't work. I even added a second roux, then boiled it for 15 mintues and it still wouldn't thicken.

Gravy?

Okay, let me start by saying I love Tyler Florence, but this was a BIG let down!! I followed the directions to the letter and all I got was turkey soup. I added more flour and then out of desperation I added cornstarch and it just wouldn't thicken at all. Luckily the store still had packets of turkey gravy today so I can mix it with turkey drippings tomorrow!! Very disappointing!!!

I just finished making Tyler's Ultimate turkey gravy recipe. While this recipe does require a bit of time, it's an easy job for the cook. You will be rewarded with an incredible, honest to goodness turkey gravy made from a rich and aromatic homemade turkey broth. Follow the directions and you can't go wrong. Thanks for the fantastic recipe. :)

While this recipe takes a little more time than usual it is the best gravy recipe I have ever used. My family and guests raved about it. Fantastic flavor. You couldn't make better gravy if you worked all day!

Great time saver

This is the way to make gravy. Wonderful flavor and easy. This made Thanksgiving less stressful knowing the gravy was already made and turned out wonderful. Just had to heat it up. Thank you, Tyler.
