I used Dove dark chocolate for this and it turned out delicious. One tip for those who may be new to this kind of recipe: for the cream and egg whites, be sure to use bowls that are much bigger than you need for the ingredients themselves. As you whip each of them, they increase in volume a lot (about 2X for the cream and 3X or 4X for the egg whites). Enjoy! It's great! Oh yeah, I also melted the butter and chocolate together in the microwave instead of messing with a double boiler...worked great.

Spectacular

This was kind of a lot of work, but it was so good it was worth it. I made it for Valentine's Day after having filet mingnon and Ina Garten's Zuccini Gratan. I served it in a martini glass and it was so pretty.

I've never attempted a mousse before, but it was really easy! I thought it called for too much semisweet chocolate, so I took out 2 oz and used 2 oz of unsweetened chocolate in its place. PERFECT! So rich and creamy, but not too sweet. It was a hit at a dinner party; I topped it with fresh whipped cream, chocolate shavings and strawberries. I love Tyler's recipes!

This was the first time I'd made chocolate mousse, and I'm glad I picked this recipe to try. It is rich and VERY sweet, maybe even a little too sweet. Easy to prepare, but I would make this on a night when someone else is on dish duty. :)

Yummy!

This was my first attempt at making chocolate mousse, it was much easier than I expected. This recipe was very good, very rich! I think I may have over mixed a little, because it turned out a little heavy; not the light airy texture I was hoping for, but still a very good dessert. I will definitely try this one again. Thanks Tyler!

A friend asked me to make chocolate mousse for her Bible study group of 10. We talked about the ordinary pudding/whipped cream mix, but I thought we should try for the "real" thing. I found this recipe, and it turned out divine. It was so much easier than I would have imagined, and it tasted heavenly. I will definitely use this one over and over again.

It is not too hard to make and the final product is delicious. It was my first dessert ever to make and what a confidence boost it was. Perfect for an elegant dessert with sliced strawberries or touch of berry syrup on top of whipped cream.
