I used this recipe for my Christmas dinner today...the glaze was so simple, but so delicious. It gave such a nice subtle flavor to the smoked ham, not overpowering or overly sweet. The ham came out very moist and tender and the fragrance it created in my home while cooking was mouth-watering...the compliments just kept on coming from my guests.

We attempted this recipe for the first time this Christmas weekend (for a handful of unexpected guests) and it was a hit! The ham came out tender & juicy with just the right amount of sweet and a just the right amount of tangy. The carrots were a perfect compliment!

This ham was delicious. My whole family loved it. The aroma of the orange glaze is wonderful. It gives the home that "holiday" spirit. I baked my ham in a gas grill at 300 degrees. It was simply delicious with the orange glaze. I will definitely be making this ham again. Thank you Tyler.

Well beyond expectations

Admittedly, I was nervous about cooking such a huge hunk of meat. It was my first go at such a feat. It turned out wonderfully. The meat was tender and flavorful. The marinade really does penetrate well. The recipe is really sweet, vs savory; so keep that in mind and tweak the sugar and sage down or up, to your preference. The carrots will be a bit al dente, so if you like your carrots soft, you will need to keep them in the oven a bit longer. I also reheated it as is the next day, it was even better. I froze the meat and even the carrots that were left over and they were just a good as the day it was made. I'll be keeping this on in the recipe box for a while!

Amazing!

The Best Ham You'll Ever Eat

We served the Orange Glazed Ham for our Christmas Dinner. The house smelled sooooo goood with the cinnamon, cloves, orange slices, ham and herbs baking in the oven. I've never seen a more enthusiastic crowd around the dinner table! The carmelized orange slices over the top of the meat with the carrots all around the base of the serving platter made a beautiful presentation. The ham was buttery, sweet and savory and seasoned to perfection. Who would have known how perfect sage and orange could be together?! The "ooooooohs" and "ahhhhhhhhs" started at the beginning of the meal and continued as everyone took seconds and thirds! I plan to make this ham a Christmas tradition at my house. I will never go back to ordinary ham again!!!

I made this recipe for my in-laws for Christmas. I really wanted to impress my mother in law, since, because I work and go to school, she thinks I don't spend enough time taking care of my home. It was a hit. Because I come from a long line of meat overcookers (you know, the ones who think they have to cook the meat all day--then it comes out dry) I used a meat thermometer and the temperature was perfect after cooking for the suggested time. Very juicy. The best ham I have ever tasted.
