HAMAZING! 04/18/2007 at 10:45am User: BARBARA from Norwalk, CA User Rating: Loved the recipe and the carrots in the orange spice glaze. Will use combo of the glaze to make candied carrots in the future! Tyler has done it again! Well beyond expectations 04/16/2008 at 03:31pm User: Regina from Huntersville, NC User Rating: Admittedly, I was nervous about cooking such a huge hunk of meat. It was my first go at such a feat. It turned out wonderfully. The meat was tender and flavorful. The marinade really does penetrate well. The recipe is really sweet, vs savory; so keep that in mind and tweak the sugar and sage down or up, to your preference. The carrots will be a bit al dente, so if you like your carrots soft, you will need to keep them in the oven a bit longer. I also reheated it as is the next day, it was even better. I froze the meat and even the carrots that were left over and they were just a good as the day it was made. I'll be keeping this on in the recipe box for a while! Amazing! 04/15/2008 at 09:15pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I'm a college student and I decided to make this for my family while home for Thanksgiving and it turned out so good! Everyone was asking about the recipe and said they loved it. I will definately make this again. The Best Ham You'll Ever Eat 01/21/2007 at 11:56pm User: cheri from brier, WA User Rating: We served the Orange Glazed Ham for our Christmas Dinner. The house smelled sooooo goood with the cinnamon, cloves, orange slices, ham and herbs baking in the oven. I've never seen a more enthusiastic crowd around the dinner table! The carmelized orange slices over the top of the meat with the carrots all around the base of the serving platter made a beautiful presentation. The ham was buttery, sweet and savory and seasoned to perfection. Who would have known how perfect sage and orange could be together?! The "ooooooohs" and "ahhhhhhhhs" started at the beginning of the meal and continued as everyone took seconds and thirds! I plan to make this ham a Christmas tradition at my house. I will never go back to ordinary ham again!!! orange glazed ham 01/15/2008 at 05:29pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The best ham i have ever had. I made it for a dinner party everyone loved it. Everyone loved it. Excellent 01/02/2007 at 12:02pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made this recipe for my in-laws for Christmas. I really wanted to impress my mother in law, since, because I work and go to school, she thinks I don't spend enough time taking care of my home. It was a hit. Because I come from a long line of meat overcookers (you know, the ones who think they have to cook the meat all day--then it comes out dry) I used a meat thermometer and the temperature was perfect after cooking for the suggested time. Very juicy. The best ham I have ever tasted. |
