My first attempt at making mashed potatoes. They were a big hit on Christmas Eve dinner. I skipped the olive oil component of the recipe. Very simple recipe!!

Not even a thought of a lump. So easy to make. Velvety is a great way to describe this. I didn't put the oil (optional) in and they still came out heavenly. Fantastic recipe.

Like my title states, this is the best recipe for mashed potatoes. It's extremely creamy, and very tasty. It's very easy to make as well. I made this for my Thanksgiving dinner, and it was a major hit!

I made this recipie for Thanksgiving 11/23/06 and my family LOVED it. I was going to make gravy but no one needed it, the potatoes were nearly gone by the end of the night. Perfect combination of ingredients.

Last year I tried the goat cheese and herbs mashed potatoes. They were a huge success! This year I tried this recipe...WOW!!! These are the best I've ever had, and I will always use this recipe! They turned out creamy, flavorful, and just simply delicious! I recommend using the mill for the potatoes...don't skimp by just mashing them! Thanks Tyler!!!

For years I tried to make decent mashed potatoes. They always turned out dry, pasty or flavorless. I found Tylers recipe and made them for Thanksgiving. Everyone raved and now I am officially in charge of bringing the mashed potatoes to holiday gatherings. In fact, I invited my sister over for dinner recently. She asked if I would be making these and when I said yes, she yelled "bless you!!! I can't wait!"

These are excellent mashed potatoes! I skipped the olive oil, and added some fresh minced garlic to the melted butter and let it saute a few minutes, then added the cream and warmed it through. I don't have a food mill so I just whipped them with my hand mixer and they are just wonderful- no gravy needed at all!

These potatoes were a hit with my family and the perfect accompaniment to our pecan crusted chicken. The olive oil added at the end provided an even smoother texture as well as additional flavor.

I tried this recipe and perhaps I didn't do it right, but I've been cooking for awhile and they ended up coming out soupy and once mashed potatos are soupy there is no going back.... so c'est la vie, but I wont use this recipe again
