My friends and I have made a few adjustments. First, forget the sprinkles and kisses. We're making straight Nutella Cookies here. Also, shorten the baking time, closer to 6 minutes to make chewier cookies. Remove from the pan asap and cool on a plate. They are AMAZING!! SOOO addictive! My room mate and I make them at least once a week!

So delicious!

These cookies were a big hit! I didn't use the chocolate kisses and took other users' suggestions to cut 1-2 min off the cooking time to keep them chewy. I thought the Nutella flavor really came through - they were great!

I LOVE THESE COOKIES! And so do all of my family and friends. I cook the cookies for about 1 minute less than the recipe calls for before you put in the chocolate kisses and 1 minute less when you put them back in. Makes for a softer cookie. I also make them with the variety of different kisses they have now. Caramel, Mint, etc. Enjoy! : )

So good

I made these for a Halloween party I hosted. They came out wonderful! I left out the Hershey kisses and cut the bake time down a bit for softer cookies. I can't stop eating the cookies that are left over! I will definately be making these again!

Tasty, but....

WAY too crispy. Reminded me of biscotti. We cut bake time way back, and they still came out crispy. Think we'll alter the recipe next time to get a softer cookie. Very tasty, subtle hazelnut flavor.

Add some Frangelico

User: mary from iowa city, IA    User Rating:
For those of you wanting a more hazelnut taste, add some Frangelico. It increases the flavor and adds some moisture.

These were fab! A great chewy cookie with a very nice taste. Not a very strong Nutella flavor, but still very good. I will definitely make these again and again. I used dark chocolate pastilles instead of kisses... they were very tasty and looked great!

These are so quick and easy! I love anything with Nutella. I used organic cane sugar to roll the dough, which gave the cookies a nice sparkle. I also used the Caramel filled kisses. Delicious. They'll make my Christmas cookie platter from now on. Definitely a crowd pleaser.

Pretty good

User: Jennifer from Louisville, KY    User Rating:
I was hoping these would be better then they were...but they are still good enough to make again. I, like other reviewers, did not taste the Nutella in the cookie (although I could smell it). I wish the taste would have come through more. Also, these are almost like biscotti in that they are so hard. They are great with hazelnut coffee, dunk them a bit and they taste fantastic.

Yummy!

User: Anonymous    User Rating:
These cookies were fantastic the only problem with them is that when you put them back in the over with the hershey kiss the chocolate gets really melty and you don't get the beautiful shape that the picture shows. What I did was I cooked them a minute longer the first time around and a minute less the second and that seemed to help.

Cool twist on an old classic

A very yummy interpretation of the traditional cookie with the Hershey kiss in the center. The nutella really makes these special. If you coat them in a brightly colored sugar, they make a great presentation!

Not very Nutellay

I'm a Nutella junkie, so I thought this would be a good recipe. Although they weren't bad, you couldn't really taste the nutella all that well.

Although these cookies are indicated for Halloween I made them for Christmas using red, green and white sugar to coat. They are absolutely devine. I am planning on making a Valentine's Dat version, using red sugar to coat and adding the chocolate kiss. Yum, can't wait. Marilyn, Brick NJ

Hazelnut Kisses

User: Judy from Cumming, GA    User Rating:
Easy recipe to follow. I made these for a friend who loves Nutella and even though I added a little more than the recipe called for, the hazelnut flavor wasn't very strong. I would try chocolate chips and hazelnuts mixed in with the batter next time. Jude

User: kitty from cincinnati, OH    User Rating:
I made these for gift baskets. So easy and quick to make. I used plain sugar for rolling and some I rolled in Turbinado sugar, which gave them a slightly different flavor and rustic look. My husband loved these but could not taste the hazelnut flavor of the Nutella. I think these might be good if you used halved Andes Mints is place of the Kisses too...just a thought.

So glad I made these for gifting

and my honey is so sorry! Play with the baking time to get the cookie texture you want. I got some lovely chewy soft, and some with a nice crunch, but not hard. I made a double batch, formed them a little smaller than directed and yielded about 8 dozen. I used Trader Joe's Cocoa Hazelnut Spread (no partially hydrogenated oil), didn't roll them in sugar, and subbed Droste 72% Extra Dark Chocolate Pastilles for kisses. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!

Nutella rocks :(
12/12/2006 at 11:52pm
User: Erica from Chehalis, WA    User Rating:
I have a weakness for Nutella and was looking for a cookie recipe that incorporated it. Unfortunately, these cookies taste more of chocolate than hazelnuts, and once they were cool they turned into rocks. Definitely not going to make them again. I'll probably try substituting Nutella in a peanut butter cookie recipe next time, I prefer soft cookies rather than these, which came out more like gingersnaps.

I love Nutella and couldn't wait to make these. As most bakers are apt to do, I made a few adjustments. I didn't use the chocolate kisses or roll the cookie in sugar. Instead, I added 1/2 chopped hazelnuts and then reduced the cooking time to 9-10 minutes. Wonderful. Thanks, Giada. You never let me down!!!!!
