Nothing special

I might have done something wrong, perhaps it was the wine or the use of frozen, not fresh, scallops, but I didn't think this recipe was anything special. if I make it again, I will try substituting a better wine or chicken broth for the wine next time. Also, I got a lot of liquid when cooking the scallops so they never carmelized. Bread crumbs DO have had a very good, fresh flavor, but recipe calls for making way too much. Also, I generally avoid using much salt, but it definitely needs salt to give it flavor.

Great Recipe

I used chicken in place of the scallops. Great meal to entertain with!

Excellent flavor

The sauce had an excellent mixture of flavors and textures. Even my two year old son enjoyed the pasta and sauce.

Must Try!

So easy to prepare and loved it! . While we enjoyed the scallops, in the future I think I will try marinated chicken tenders (just for a change) but will still use the breadcrumbs. Also I think you really need to use "crushed tomatoes" that helps thicken it up.

fast and tasty

I found this very easy to prepare and tasty, even without the saffron. Sprinkle some of the breadcrumbs on top of the sauced pasta for a flavor sensation.

DELICIOUS.

This is truly one of the best meals i have ever had. You could definitely cut the amount of pasta in half, however. The pasta ended up soaking in most of the sauce. Other than that there is nothing else I would change. It is just as good the next day, too. Everything about the meal was amazing.

Nice, but not spectacular

My husband loves scallops so I made this for his birthday. I thought the sauce was really thin, but I could not find a 14oz can of crushed tomatoes & used diced instead...maybe that's the reason??? I could not taste the saffron at all, but the asparagus was excellent. I do not like scallops, so I used half jumbo shrimp they were really good. Instead of "topping" the scallops (& shrimp) with the breadcrumbs, I just rolled them around in them & that worked fine. The breadcrumbs actually helped thicken the sauce nicely.

fantastic

My husband and I really enjoyed this meal. The scallops were fantastic--the pasta sauce was a little runny and needed a little more flavor. Next time we'll add fresh basil, pine nuts, and maybe use the extra bread crumbs to thicken the sauce a little.

Very quick dinner

I've made this a few times and I always have extra breadcrumb mixture. Use it for chicken breasts and fry up for dinner the next day. The lemon really flavors the chicken.

doesn't work

not quick & easy - too many things going on in too many pans that require too many different cooking times - the pasta, the bread crumbs, the vegetables, the sauce, the scallops. very difficult to time everything just so and keep it within 30 min. and after all is said & done, the dish was pretty bland, although it did look pretty. not worth the bother. i wouldn't make this again.

Delicious

I thought this dish was excellent. I had not used saffron before and thought it added a real interesting flavor to the sauce. A little saffron goes a very long way! The recipe does make too much bread crumb topping, so next time I will cut that in half. Over all it was a very delicious dish.

Not so yummy

It was my first time having scallops and they were good. But the sauce to the fettuccine was horrible. I would rather have just used spaghetti sauce.

Not that good.

This recipe was salty and the breadcrumbs over power the taste of the scallops.

This is an excellent recipe and easy to make. I had all of the ingredients right in my kitchen except for the Asparagus. A quick trip to the Farmer's Market and whoopee, done in 30 minutes. My guests were especially impressed.

okay for weekday meal

I liked this okay but of course, I LOVE scallops and pasta together. Cut way back on the amount of bread crumbs and still had plenty. By the way, whoever is dressing Rachael now is sure doing a better job. Her clothes used to be so awful it became hilarious to watch her to see what atrocious get up she would wear!

Bland...

Proportions of pasta to scallops seemed off. Also, we didn't even notice the taste of the saffron, and the sauce overall was quite bland.

I was not impressed with the Fettuccini. Sauce was too runny, bland, couldn't taste the saffron and had to add some diced tomatoes. Maybe it would have been better without the chicken stock. Scallops and bread crumbs were very good. I would make these again, but not the sauce for the Fettuccini
