I've been trying to find the perfect "molten-y yet crusty" chocolate souffle forever. I decided to try this bc of the reviews, not even thinking it'd be just like the taste of the best souffles. IT IS! This is EXACTLY like a certain famous souffle I have been trying to recreate, but failed until NOW. This is absolutely delicious, unbelievably simple, and it seems fail proof. A brilliant recipe and I'm thrilled once again by Nigella's ability to combine deliciousness w/ simplicity.

This is a terrific recipe. I can whip it up in just minutes and have done so frequently since its first airing. My husband and children gobble them up. The ramekins keep our portions contained, so we indulge but not too much.

Amazing and Easy!

Absolutely fabulous! I didnt even use the superfine sugar...just regular sugar and this was spectacular. You can freeze them too...and just reheat in the microwave.

I made this stuff and it was like eating a delicious, super-chocolatey, gooey brownie. It was, needless to say, very good. Plus it was easy to make and stuff. All in all, it's a great recipe.

My family loved this. The cakes are easy to make, and are fast to bake. We added creme fraiche to the gooey center. It's like heaven to eat.

This sinfully divine chocolate, gooey, creamy treat is absolutely amazing. I drizzled a little raspberry jam on top and let it ooze into the chocolate. YUM

This recipe was very delicious. It wasn't too sweet. I accidentally overcooked some of my chochohotpots and they became brownie-like. But the recipe was quick and easy.

I watched the show and made these the same night. They are so good and easy to make - with ingredients I already had in my pantry. Actually I only had powdered baking chocolate but followed the instructions on the package for using like regular chocolate and the pots turned out great. Thanks Nigella!

These were very easy to make and had rave reviews from very discerning palettes. I loved them and I'm not even a chocolate fan. They are lighter than you would expect for such a rich dessert.

I'll Try Again

Although I followed the cook time as listed in the recipe, mine turned out dry. The taste was also flat to me. I wondered if maybe a pinch of salt might bring out the other flavors and create a better balance. I plan to try these again.

Quick, easy, rich, very rich, fantastic. A little goes a long way. It was so rich I couldn't even finish one, but what I could eat was blissful. I added a 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract and a teaspoon of bourbon whiskey to my batch. This recipe is such a good base to experiment with. Just keep in mind if you add too much liquid you'll throw off the balance between the liquid and solid ingredients.

I made this as a special dessert for my husband for Father's Day. He is an executive chef, and I am a pastry chef turned mom so we're always trying out new recipes. This is a definite winner! We put scoops of vanilla ice cream on top and it was just absolutely amazing...super hot chocolate alongside frozen vanilla. Can I say it again....AMAZING! I must say, the only drawback is that each serving has around a whopping 500 calories and 34 grams of fat. Definitely not an every night treat. Oh - and I switched the chocolate to bittersweet to cut back on the sweetness. So darn good.

Too good!

This recipe is so easy it is fool proof! Next time I will add more chocolate, take away some sugar and maybe add a flavoring like vanilla extract or orange zest/liqueur.

This is the absolute best Chocolate dessert there is around! I ignored some of the bad comments (i really don't understand what the problem with these were) and tried these...o my goodness am i glad that i did! I made them for valentines day, and one person who can't have chocolate at night (can't sleep if she does) warmed hers up in the morning and allowed us to have some...o my goodness. These things are dangerously addictive! so there, I have warned you! :)

YUM!!!!! This makes a wonderful chocolate dessert for those chocolate lovers. I like to use the 65% chocolate with cocao nibs which just adds a little different texture. It really was a chocolate heaven in a little cup!!!!!

Wow - so good, especially right out of the oven! It only took about 10 minutes to prepare (then 20 in the oven), so that is a plus. They look pefect in ramekins and I couldn't beleive how gooey the inside was, while the outside was nice and brownie-like!

Excellent and quick chocolate fix!!

This was delish - but I have to say I preferred them the next day when they were cold - they got extra dense and fudgy! Also, I added some salt to the batter since salt really brings out intense chocolate flavor. I think next time I'll add some vanilla as well. Great recipe!

I had a friend over for dinner on Saturday night and for dessert, I made these and we were both AMAZED by how good they were! They taste just like they would in a really expensive restaurant, yet they're so easy and inexpensive to make. Simply wonderful! Thank you again for another great recipe Nigella!

Cholocate Paradise

User: Heather from Alberton, MT    User Rating:
We made these for our family Christmas dinner and they were a huge hit. We substituted Splenda baking mix for the sugar to make them a little less guilt inspiring and they were still fabulous. The chocohotopots were easy to make and also satisfied my husband and my brother's "chocolate tooth" which is amazing. My husband now keeps some chocolate in the pantry in case he has a sudden chocolate craving that can only be satisified with the warm, gooey chocolateness of the hotopots.

This was so incredible it might become my signature dessert. I watched Nigella make it and the ooey, gooey goodness was never forgotten. I caution that if you're cooking with a covection oven to only put it in for 15 min as mine was almost a brownie-like consistency and I think it should be creamier. All in all absolutely incredible and so easy!

The Best

I have been making this for our family and company since I saw Nigella make this on the Oprah show. The best 'molten lava' chocolate cake I have had. It is rich, so I streach the recipe to 6 ramekins. More room for a little vanilla ice cream that way!
