I always wanted to try to make cornish game hens but was always hesitant until I watched Robin make this recipe. This recipe is definitely a keeper - very easy to make and my husband loved it, too!!

Very good basic recipe

This recipe is a very good way to make these hens. The trick with turning up the oven temp first is helpful for keeping them from drying out. Naturally, the repeated basting helps as well. With respect to Robin's hygiene. People need to chill out about such things. First of all, the hens are IN the roasting pan, so whether she washes her hands before handing it is pretty much irrelevant. And, those studio kitchens are scrubbed from top to bottom after every episode anyway, so it doesn't much matter there either. Besides, all of these anti-bacterial practices are ultimately making us sicker as a nation over the long haul anyway.

My husband and I loved these hens. To Anonymous user dated 12-2-2006. Are you the Chicken police? I don't think so. I am so tired of reading stupid reviews about Robin. First, someone said she is anorexic and now she doesn't wash her hands!!!! What's next? Love Robin's recipes. Janet from Winter Haven, FL.

The cornish hens were very tasty, and I especially like the stuffing. Always looking for new way to do stuffing. To other reviewers, please rate the food, not anything else. Thanks.

Wash Your Hands, Please

Someone needs to tell Robin to WASH HER HANDS after handling these hens. Right after she stuffed them, I could see her contaminated hands touch the box of chicken stock, the roasting pan, and the oven door! Ugh. It was a total turnoff!

This was the first time cooking cornish hens, the meal turned out pretty good, I used more chicken broth then what the recipe called for but, to me it was missing something. Overall it is a good base of a recipe to start with and you can play with it and make it what you like.

My first Cornish hen, and a BIG success. Very nice dish to serve and be proud of for the holidays. The taste was delicious, the prep was not daunting and the result was nothing short of impressive. Definitely a keeper.
