Giada has done it for us again. So easy and SO good and the minute my husband walked in from work he started raving about the way it smelled in the house.

Yes the picture looks really good but I didnt like it too much. Too much rosemary and thyme for my taste. And the onions and the marmalade didnt turn out how it was supposed. I even added more of the orange marmalade in. The onions werent sweet and there were alot of them left over.

Too Sweet!

The pork chops were pretty tasty but the onions were way too sweet! My boyfriend definitely didn't clean his plate...which never makes me happy...sorry Giada

Didn't work

User: Anthony from Los Angeles, CA    User Rating:
I followed the recipe exactly and the onions didn't turn out right. They were pale and didn't get to a jamlike consistency at all. The pork chops were great with the rub - the onions weren't really necessary. I'm going to try again, because I really want it to work. But at least I got a good pork chop rub out of it! :)

I'm in the minority here

User: Kay from Butler, PA    User Rating:
I found this dish to be only good, not great. I probably should have cooked the onions much longer - to achieve the jam-like consistency called for, but the rest of the meal I prepared called for the 2 hours indicated. I may make this again, but not for company. The tortellini from this show, on the other hand, is out of this world good.

Wow!

I loved this recipe, and it was so easy to make. I followed the recipe exactly, except I used chicken as we are not pork eaters. My whole family loved it, the kids thought it was amazing. This one is a keeper for any night, but especially when company comes over. Great job Giada!

SUPERB!

I'm not much of a pork-fan, but I decided to try this with a thin cut loin chop. The rub is very flavorful, but the sauce.. THE SAUCE! Let me just say that it is well worth the two hour simmer time. It makes the house smell so yummy, too! I didn't have any fresh herbs on hand, so I used all dried - and it still was packed with so much flavor. I also did not have orange marmalade, so I substituted it with the fig jam that I did have (just like a previous reviewer), and it worked out just scrumptious. I will be using this sauce for chicken, as well! Try this recipe - and you will say "mmmmmm", non-stop, just like I did. :-) Thank you, Giada! As always - you give us winner dishes.

Amazing...

I saw this on her show and had to try it. I was a little worried about 2 hours to cook the onions, but well worth it! Truth be told...I only let the onions cook for a little over an hour on a bit higher heat. They were still amazing. Easy recipe that I will definitely make again.

I loved this recipe! I usually do not like anything that has a strong onion taste, but mixed with the marmalade and cooked for 2 hours it is sweet and just delicious. It was easy to make, even though it took 2 hours, you only have to occasionally stir it so it is really not time consuming.

This recipe shocked me. It looked so good on her show but I am not a fan of the fruit and pork combo. It still held my interest enough to make it for dinner that night. It was phenominal. The thick chops with the sweetness of the onions in every bite made me actually crave this dish the very next day!! And unfortunately I didn't have any leftovers! I will definately use this recipe again and again!

The best pork chop recipe ever. I used bone in pork chops and cooked them 4 minutes on each side, on the grill. They were "the" most moist pork chop I have ever cooked. The onions are fabulous and a great complement to a simply cooked pork chop. Loved it!

I'm normally not a big fan of pork chops, but I love this recipe! I made it the normal way the first time which was good, but the second time I only had fig spread. I used that instead of the marmalade and actually liked it better! I also like to substitute a green apple for one of the onions-just chunk it up and add for the last half hour only, so it won't get too mushy. Another fantastic recipe Giada!

I had these last night for the first cookout of the year and they were simply superb. I used the boneless pork chops and did them on the grill. They turned out just perfect, then when I put the sweet onion marmellata over them, it took the pork chops to a brand new level . . . over the top. I am sure I'll be doing this again many times this summer.

As usual, Giada does not disappoint! I love cooked onions, and this really does it wonderfully, the peppery flavor with woodsy rosemary and the sweet underpinnings from the orange marmalade...mmm mmm! My husband loved it and he doesn't like pork! One suggestion though: be sure to get boneless pork chops (unspecified in the recipe) I think this would just be easier and of course ensure consistent cooking throughout/be faster...

Great flavor and taste. Great presentation, a fine dish for company. The seasonings were in perfect proportions, just follow the instructions. I used the boneless chops and white onions just as she did on the show. I may have had the onion mixture on to low of heat, so I turned it up a bit on the final 1/2 hour to brown it up some more.

I was making chicken soup this sunny Sunday morning and watching Giada make Onion Marmellata and rub those pork chops. Since I planned chops for tonight's dinner and that looked SO delicious, I gave them a try. I had everything but fresh rosemary, so I used a teaspoon of dried instead of a tablespoon of fresh. Also, my chops had bones and were just a bit thinner than hers. I also don't have a stove top griller, so I cooked them in a heavy frying pan with just a bit of olive oil. No matter. The result was truly delicious. The onion marmellata was a surprising enhancement to the chops which are delicious on their own. VERY nice recipe. Will most definitely use it again and would be proud to serve it to company.

My husband and I tried this dish last night after getting home from a wet afternoon of hiking in the mud with our dogs. He was speculative about waiting the two hours for the marmellata to cook, but I convinced him to wait. BOY WAS IT WORTH IT.
