I made these, but used M&M's and white choc chips instead of the almond brickle chips and bitter sweet choc. I brought them to a cook-out, and was told that they were the best. And they were all gone in a flash. My brother said, "Now this is how a chocolate chip cookie is supposed to be. It has just the right texture and consistency." Thanks again, Paula!

This is absolutely the BEST Chocolate Chip Cookie I have ever baked. I sent the first batch to school with my husband and a fellow teacher called me that night and asked me to bake LOTS for the Cancer "Walk for Life" as a fund raiser. Way to go Paula...these are wonderful.

I love to bake and over the holidays, I decided to make some good old chocolate chip cookies. I knew if I wanted a recipe from someone, I knew I would have to go with the lovable Mrs. Paula Deen. I couldn't find the almond brickles anywhere, so I just did without. When I took them out, I knew they would be a big hit! Surprisingly, a day later, they tasted even better! Make them A day ahead if you want to bring the to a party. These are hands down the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever tasted. People who said they weren't good obviously messed up the recipes or have weird taste buds. Thank you sooooooo much Paula Deen! You are my favorite chef on Food Network!If anyone wants to find a chocolate chip cookie recipe, look no further.

My 9 year old son had been asking me to bake soft chocolate chip cookies for him. When I watched Paula make these, I knew I had to make them for him. I did change the chocolate up a bit, though. Instead of the bittersweet chocolate and the brickle bits, I increased the milk chocolate chips to 12 oz. They were a BIG hit with my son and my co-workers!

After seeing the reviews on this cookie, I decided that I would make them as Valentine's Day gifts for my employees. I decided to go ahead and make the cookie dough ahead of time so that I could have one step out of the way. Of course I had to try it out first. All I can say is.. this is a GREAT cookie. I'm not much of a chocolate chip cookie lover, but this is wonderful. i know my employees are going to go crazy over them. Also, I used an ice cream scoop and they turned out to be the perfect size.

WOW!! Delicious!! But I have a question, I didn't have enough all purpose flour, so I used Cake flour and added the extra 2 TBS per 1 cup of flour used. I also used a dry 1/4 cup @ 3" apart on the cookie sheet. It made one giant cookie!! If you ever need a giant cookie for a birthday, this is the Best!! I added 1/2 all purpose flour (all I had on hand) and used a small melon ball scoop. I am waiting to see the results now. I don't know what I did to make them run and not stick together and form a good tight ball. O.k. I just took out the revised cookies and they are perfect!! I think I didn't have enough flour to hold them together! I must say they are worth the extra work, giant or regular size, they are delicious!!!

These were really good! A liitle too cunchy for my taste the first couple batches, but then I figures out I wasn't making them big enough, once I largened them, they turned out REALLY GOOD! Yummy!!!

I wanted to bake cookies with my daughter just like my grandmother did with me during the holidays. However, the only thing I remembered about the recipe was m&m's and walnuts. So, after searching the database, I settled on these cookies because the ratings were high and the comments sold me. We made 3 batches in 6 different varieties, including m&m's (in place of the semi-sweet chocolate) and adding walnuts, instead of heath crunch. They were fabulous! We tried variations using heath, walnuts, almonds, and the three chocolates in the recipe and we couldn't make a bad batch if we tried. This recipe has been the continuation to a family tradition that was just as delicious as I remembered it to be. You MUST try them too!

I have made these several times and they are always delicious! I have a hard time finding Heath bits in my local store, so I usually don't add them. I do like to add the mini M&Ms (semi-sweet) and that makes these extra colorful. They taste so good!

I have tried this recipe with a few different sets of add ins and each and every way comes out great! Tonight we made it with chocolate/peanut butter swirl chips, Heath toffee chips and semi-sweet chocolate chunks and everyone raved about it. I have also tried it with white chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips and mini Reese's cups and those were a huge hit at an birthday party recently, mostly with the adults :) Paula's great and I am grateful I found her, her recipes and personality have enhanced our lives.

I am well known for my cookies and saw Paula bake these one day. I decided to give them a try with a little alteration due to difference from the U.S. to Canada. I substituted Skor bits for Almond Brickle bits and used Dark choc. chips instead of squares,I also used block margarine instead of shortening. They are the MOST requested cookies the teens in our youth group have ever requested! It makes a LOT of cookies if you make them normal sized but still don't last long because they taste so good! Don't put in to tight fitting a container though as they bend due to the butter content. Don't even think about the calories! These are for pure enjoyment!

One reviewer used the word bonkers when describing how these cookies are received by others and that couldn't be more accurate! These have turned my roommate into a cookie monster, and he does "cookie inventory" daily and after sharing them with another friend, he said these are all he wants for Christmas - an entire batch all too himself! I made Toll House Cookies last week and they are good. I made these cookies this week and they are so much better. They are big and chewy too, which I love. I added Emerald brand toffee covered walnuts and a Hershey chocolate bar chopped up along with the choco chips. Delicious! I won't make the toll house ever again.

I made these cookies along with another recipe (Tyler Florence) in one day, so that I could compare them. These were by far so much better. I even made them for a bridal shower and the ladies could not get enough of them. One of the ladies there owns a chocolate shop and thought these were some of the best cookies she had ever had. They have tons of chocolate in them, and are super moist and chewy. You will love these!

they were so good, thanks paula. the only thing i did differently is I substituted peanut butter chips for the almond brickle chips (i'm just not an almond fan). it makes a lot of cookies though...but I would say thats a good thing.

Bakers are always looking for two things; a better buttercream icing and a better chocolate chip cookie recipe. Chocoholics look no further! This recipe has so many good things in it that you could certainly substitute something to suit your taste, but it is perfect as is. It's chocolately, it's big and soft and just delicious. My kids love it. My husband loves it. My co-workers love it. My search is over!

this is a great variation of the chocolate chip cookie. I found the bittersweet chocolate in chips, so did not have to use a block chocolate as Paula did on the show. It was easier. I have passed these along to neighbors, friends and family. Everyone loves them!

I have been baking cookies for as long as I can remember. I have a 5 year old daughter who loves to bake with me and it is so much fun, especially when chocolate chips are involved. I saw the show about all chocolate and I thought that this would be a good recipe to try. It was easy and they were very good, but when they were done baking, my cookies were not flat, they stayed in ball form, they also only took 8-9 minutes in my oven. My critics at work loved them also.

If you have been looking and practicing with other chocolate chip cookie recipes like me, stop now. Wow!!!! Paula is not shy about using butter... we all know that. But, the keys here are the chocolate flavors, the almond brickle and the amount of brown sugar. Other recipes require smaller amounts and don't contain that old fashioned depth that brown sugar provides. Bake for 12 minutes and definitely continue baking on the sheets for another 2 minutes prior to the wire rack transfer. Truly great!!! A can't miss cookie.

The Three Chocolate Cookie's receipe was extremely simple. Me and my 13 year old daughter made them together. We both enjoyed putting all that chocolate in the cookies. As they were baking, we couldn't hardly wait until they were done to taste them. They were just PERFECT!!! My husband, and three year old just devoured the cookies. At work, he said some of his co-workers were meeting him on lunch to try the cookies, and Paula you got RAVE reviews. Thank you for the WONDERFUL recipe.

This is the first recipe I've tried from this site, and the results were fantastic! I omitted the bittersweet chocolate and substituted toffee bits for the almond brickle. I ended up having to keep them in the oven quite a bit longer because I used a stoneware bar pan. I will also end up with over 3 dozen (probably closer to 6) because I am making a standard-size cookie. Hopefully they will freeze well.

These are wonderful! I have replaced all the other "chocolate chip" cookie recipes in my recipe file with just this one. I baked about three dozen the first night and then refrigerated the rest of the dough until I could bake them the next day. It took about one more minute to bake the cookies when the dough was cold, but there wasn't any difference in the finished product. They disappeared just as fast!

We watched the episode with Paula creating these fabulous cookies and had to try them. We substituted the bittersweet chocolate with dark chocolate since it was a late night trip to the store...and we used toffee chips instead of the almond brickle chips...they were wonderful, melt in your mouth cookies. Easy to follow recipe and turned out perfectly!

These cookies are delicious. I didn't have bittersweet chocolate, but I did have Hersheys special dark. I also tossed in some white chips, but next time I'll leave them out. I don't think they compliment the other chocolate flavors. Regardless, these were delicious!!! I got 30 cookies! I couldn't remember if Paula flattened the scoops of dough at all, so the first batch I didn't and then the others I did. I honestly didn't notice a difference. Next time I don't plan on flattening them. They are crisp on the outside and gooey in the center. Next time I think I'll take them out a minute earlier. I like soft chocolate chip cookies...not crispy. I baked mine between 11-12 minutes. I think next time I'll take them out at 11 on the dot. Thanks Paula - great cookies!!!

Paula , I made these for my husband to put in his truck for the week ( truckdriver ). When he gets down to the mill with his ist load that day he gave his friends some of these cookies .....mind you i mad him 3 dozens .. there were done in minutes , the following week made more cookies same thing goneeeeeeee. so the following week i just sent the recipe and it got gone , he said that everybody was getting copies of this recipe so their wives could make these cookies . from good old boyes thank you that are truck drivers

Without a doubt these are the best cookies I have ever made and I've been making cookies for 40+ years. It's a nice crisp cookie that's great for dunking and the blend of three chocolates is fabulously rich. I did substitute chopped nuts for the almond brickle chips simply because I didn't have them on hand. Cheers to you, Paula!

We LOVE these cookies. They are worth every ingredient! Add toffee chips! I made ice cream sandwiches for my crew. Simply scoop any flavor ice cream between two cookies, wrap with was paper and put in the freezer for a few minutes! THEY WILL BE GONE IN NO TIME FLAT!!!!

Buy the toffee bits in your supermarket in the baking aisle. They will be on the shelf with the chocolate chips. They are the same thing as brickle chips. I think Hershey makes them. Hope that helps. Maria

Well I made these with my sweetie and they turned out so good... we didn't use the semi sweet chocolate though... just milk chocolate and health bars oooh the health bar added a gooey crunch that makes the people eating go.... what is that! Makes a bunch of cookies too, they were big like 4 to 5 inches and make probably 24-30 didn't count them. But remember they go FAST! Thanks Paula, we love you so much!

Wow. These are chocolate chip cookies on high volume. I added about 1/3C crushed walnuts + everything else as stated in recipe. Results: excellent. This is a keeper. Only downside is that it is time-consuming, but worth it.

Aloha Paula, I just made your most decadent 3 chocolate chip monster cookie exactly like how you did it on TV. Do you know those cookies is like eating 4 chocolate chips at one sitting. I made them for a girlfriend who is pregnant and under the weather. She also have a sweet tooth just like Michael. She loved it...nice and warm with a gallon of milk..tee hee. You should rename this cookie, Triple Sin Chocolate Chip Cookie! After all it's sinfully delicious! For Valentines day, I will add macadamia nuts in them...big chunky ones.....I can't wait. Move over chocolate dipped strawberries! Do you think if I added a 1/2 scoop more of the cookie dough and cook it longer, will I get me a bigger size cookie or will it burn? I just want to make it bigger and personalize it for Valentine's Day. I just wanted to say, I've told all my friends and got them watching you and all your party shows and even the boys Road tested. You have a great family and surely have been blessed thru the years. You may have lost your parents at a young age, but I think they have blessed you with their spirit throughout your years along with your brother Bubba.
