I brought them to a cook-out, and was told that they were the best. And they were all gone in a flash. My brother said, "Now this is how a chocolate chip cookie is supposed to be. It has just the right texture and consistency." Thanks again, Paula! yummy! 06/22/2008 at 12:59pm User: Anonymous User Rating: yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy!! They are delicious, the ultimate chocolate chip cookie recipe! BEST COOKIES EVER!!!!! 02/14/2008 at 02:02pm User: megan from alexandria, VA User Rating: I love to bake and over the holidays, I decided to make some good old chocolate chip cookies. I knew if I wanted a recipe from someone, I knew I would have to go with the lovable Mrs. Paula Deen. I couldn't find the almond brickles anywhere, so I just did without. When I took them out, I knew they would be a big hit! Surprisingly, a day later, they tasted even better! Make them A day ahead if you want to bring the to a party. These are hands down the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever tasted. People who said they weren't good obviously messed up the recipes or have weird taste buds. Thank you sooooooo much Paula Deen! You are my favorite chef on Food Network! If anyone wants to find a chocolate chip cookie recipe, look no further. Soft, wonderful cookies! 02/13/2008 at 10:30am User: Leigh from Harrison City, PA User Rating: My 9 year old son had been asking me to bake soft chocolate chip cookies for him. When I watched Paula make these, I knew I had to make them for him. I did change the chocolate up a bit, though. Instead of the bittersweet chocolate and the brickle bits, I increased the milk chocolate chips to 12 oz. They were a BIG hit with my son and my co-workers! UMM UMM GOOD !!!! 02/12/2008 at 09:41pm User: KIMBERLY from College Park, GA User Rating: After seeing the reviews on this cookie, I decided that I would make them as Valentine's Day gifts for my employees. I decided to go ahead and make the cookie dough ahead of time so that I could have one step out of the way. Of course I had to try it out first. All I can say is.. this is a GREAT cookie. I'm not much of a chocolate chip cookie lover, but this is wonderful. i know my employees are going to go crazy over them. Also, I used an ice cream scoop and they turned out to be the perfect size. Three Chocolate Chip Cookies 02/10/2008 at 08:00pm User: Shari from Spring, TX User Rating: WOW!! Delicious!! But I have a question, I didn't have enough all purpose flour, so I used Cake flour and added the extra 2 TBS per 1 cup of flour used. I also used a dry 1/4 cup @ 3" apart on the cookie sheet. It made one giant cookie!! If you ever need a giant cookie for a birthday, this is the Best!! I added 1/2 all purpose flour (all I had on hand) and used a small melon ball scoop. I am waiting to see the results now. I don't know what I did to make them run and not stick together and form a good tight ball. O.k. I just took out the revised cookies and they are perfect!! I think I didn't have enough flour to hold them together! I must say they are worth the extra work, giant or regular size, they are delicious!!! Outstanding Recipe! 01/18/2008 at 11:33pm User: Jane from Reno, NV User Rating: This is a absolete outstanding recipe. Wonderful! Wonderful!! AWESOME!!!!! 01/17/2008 at 12:42pm User: Kimberly from Winchester, VA User Rating: These cookies were sooooo good. I will never be making Toll House cookies again after I made these. I got so many complements when I took them into the office. VERY GOOD!! I am making these again this weekend!! MMMM Good 01/12/2008 at 11:21pm User: null from null, null User Rating: The BEST chocolate chip cookies EVER! They are fast, easy and DELISH! I think the toffee pieces make the cookie. crunchy goodness 12/16/2007 at 08:49pm User: Kelly from BAton Rouge, LA User Rating: These were really good! A liitle too cunchy for my taste the first couple batches, but then I figures out I wasn't making them big enough, once I largened them, they turned out REALLY GOOD! Yummy!!! Fantastic and easily modified! 12/16/2007 at 07:11pm User: PAMELA from Fort Myers, FL User Rating: I wanted to bake cookies with my daughter just like my grandmother did with me during the holidays. However, the only thing I remembered about the recipe was m&m's and walnuts. So, after searching the database, I settled on these cookies because the ratings were high and the comments sold me. We made 3 batches in 6 different varieties, including m&m's (in place of the semi-sweet chocolate) and adding walnuts, instead of heath crunch. They were fabulous! We tried variations using heath, walnuts, almonds, and the three chocolates in the recipe and we couldn't make a bad batch if we tried. This recipe has been the continuation to a family tradition that was just as delicious as I remembered it to be. You MUST try them too! Wonderful!! 12/06/2007 at 01:05am User: Anonymous User Rating: I have made these several times and they are always delicious! I have a hard time finding Heath bits in my local store, so I usually don't add them. I do like to add the mini M&Ms (semi-sweet) and that makes these extra colorful. They taste so good! EXCELLENT 11/30/2007 at 06:30am User: JOAN from BELLE CENTER, OH User Rating: BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE EVER, THIS COOKIE WILL MEET ALL OF YOUR CHOCOLATE NEEDS!! What a cookie should be 11/09/2007 at 03:37pm User: Kelly from Hilliard, OH User Rating: These cookies are fantastic. The best cookie ever 11/07/2007 at 03:49pm User: kathy from franklin, TN User Rating: This is a hit with my son and all his friends. They say it is the best cookie ever. I use Dark Chocolate along with the Semi Sweet and also use the entire pkg of Heath brickle. YUMMY!! Yum! 11/03/2007 at 01:44pm User: Kayte from Kansas City, MO User Rating: The best cookie for chocolate chip cookie lovers. Excellent any way you Doctor it! 11/02/2007 at 10:07pm User: Samantha from Moosup, CT User Rating: I have tried this recipe with a few different sets of add ins and each and every way comes out great! Tonight we made it with chocolate/peanut butter swirl chips, Heath toffee chips and semi-sweet chocolate chunks and everyone raved about it. I have also tried it with white chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips and mini Reese's cups and those were a huge hit at an birthday party recently, mostly with the adults :) Paula's great and I am grateful I found her, her recipes and personality have enhanced our lives. Fantastic recipe! 11/01/2007 at 07:09pm User: Brenda from Ft. McMurray, AL User Rating: I am well known for my cookies and saw Paula bake these one day. I decided to give them a try with a little alteration due to difference from the U.S. to Canada. I substituted Skor bits for Almond Brickle bits and used Dark choc. chips instead of squares,I also used block margarine instead of shortening. They are the MOST requested cookies the teens in our youth group have ever requested! It makes a LOT of cookies if you make them normal sized but still don't last long because they taste so good! Don't put in to tight fitting a container though as they bend due to the butter content. Don't even think about the calories! These are for pure enjoyment! By far, the best EVER! 10/25/2007 at 01:39pm User: A. from Prescott, AZ User Rating: One reviewer used the word bonkers when describing how these cookies are received by others and that couldn't be more accurate! These have turned my roommate into a cookie monster, and he does "cookie inventory" daily and after sharing them with another friend, he said these are all he wants for Christmas - an entire batch all too himself! THESE ARE THE BEST! THANKS PAULA! Great Cookie!! 10/22/2007 at 09:25pm User: TRacy from riggins, ID User Rating: Everytime I make these everyone wants the recipe, they're amazing, I love all the different chocolate it really make this recipe exceptional. mmmmm, chocolate and cookies... perfect combination! 10/16/2007 at 07:16pm User: William from Secaucus, NJ User Rating: Oh I love this recipe, they can compete with my favorite David's Cookies Better than Toll House Cookies 10/15/2007 at 01:38pm User: Laurie from Kansas City, KS User Rating: I made Toll House Cookies last week and they are good. I made these cookies this week and they are so much better. They are big and chewy too, which I love. I added Emerald brand toffee covered walnuts and a Hershey chocolate bar chopped up along with the choco chips. Delicious! I won't make the toll house ever again. absolutely delicious 10/13/2007 at 02:50pm User: kelley from sutton, MA User Rating: These cookies are what a chocolate chip cookie should be. You will love these! Two sticks of butter cookies 08/03/2007 at 11:31pm User: tyler from brunswick, MD User Rating: Excellent cookies, can't go wrong with them. Thanks, Paula! AMAZING COOKIES - I USED PEANUT BUTTER CHIPS 07/19/2007 at 11:54am User: Anonymous User Rating: they were so good, thanks paula. the only thing i did differently is I substituted peanut butter chips for the almond brickle chips (i'm just not an almond fan). it makes a lot of cookies though...but I would say thats a good thing. One Of The Best 07/05/2007 at 01:51pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe is a total winner. I have passed this recipe on to family and friends already. This will stay in our family recipe box from now on. decadent! 06/20/2007 at 11:50am User: Anonymous User Rating: A friend shared this recipe with me, and I LOVE these cookies. Everyone loves them! Cookies 03/31/2007 at 01:32pm User: ashley from eden, NY User Rating: These were wonderful! I like them because you can really add whatever chocolate you have on hand and they are still delicious. I used peanut butter chocolate chips, semi sweet chocolate chips and dark chocolate m and m's. I have always made the tollhouse cookies, and now I think I have a new recipe! Bev Leetonia 03/29/2007 at 10:09am User: Beverly from Leetonia, OH User Rating: The best chocolate chip cookie I ever had. THE BEST EVER 03/28/2007 at 05:20pm User: Kristin from Washington Township, MI User Rating: These cookies are AWESOME! My fiance LOVES these cookies...thanks Paula!! proposal getters 03/27/2007 at 01:02pm User: Lori from Tyler, TX User Rating: If your'e lookin to get hitched, make these for every man you deem worthy. Amazing! 03/25/2007 at 06:43pm User: Candy from Spring Valley, CA User Rating: I have made this recipe several times, not just for family but have taken them to my son's school and brought them to work. Everywhere I bring these, I'm told that they're "the best chocolate chip cookies ever." This is a fun recipe with interesting ingredients - don't change a thing and prepare to be blissed out in cookie heaven! Wonderful!!!! 03/25/2007 at 04:10pm User: Jackie from Plymouth, MN User Rating: These cookies are the best cookies I have ever eaten. My family and friends loved them. Wonderful!!!!! yummy, yummy chocolate chips 03/25/2007 at 01:36pm User: Bethany from Colliers, WV User Rating: I have been baking cookies for as long as I can remember. I have a 5 year old daughter who loves to bake with me and it is so much fun, especially when chocolate chips are involved. I saw the show about all chocolate and I thought that this would be a good recipe to try. It was easy and they were very good, but when they were done baking, my cookies were not flat, they stayed in ball form, they also only took 8-9 minutes in my oven. My critics at work loved them also. Search no more 03/25/2007 at 10:16am User: Peggy from Brunswick, OH User Rating: If you have been looking and practicing with other chocolate chip cookie recipes like me, stop now. Wow!!!! Paula is not shy about using butter... we all know that. But, the keys here are the chocolate flavors, the almond brickle and the amount of brown sugar. Other recipes require smaller amounts and don't contain that old fashioned depth that brown sugar provides. Bake for 12 minutes and definitely continue baking on the sheets for another 2 minutes prior to the wire rack transfer. Truly great!!! A can't miss cookie. LOVE THEM!!!!! LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 03/24/2007 at 02:57pm User: ANGELA from SOUTHAVEN, MS User Rating: The Three Chocolate Cookie's receipe was extremely simple. Me and my 13 year old daughter made them together. We both enjoyed putting all that chocolate in the cookies. As they were baking, we couldn't hardly wait until they were done to taste them. They were just PERFECT!!! My husband, and three year old just devoured the cookies. At work, he said some of his co-workers were meeting him on lunch to try the cookies, and Paula you got RAVE reviews. Thank you for the WONDERFUL recipe. WOW!!!! 03/23/2007 at 07:08pm User: Bessie from Reseda, CA User Rating: This was the first time I ever made Chicken pot pie- it came out so good!! my whole family loved it!! Thank you so much! Essie 03/23/2007 at 05:08pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made these cookies late this afternoon for after dinner. Of course, I had to try one. They are absolutely delicious. I really enjoy making your recipes for dinner, breakfast, sweets, etc. I have never had a bad one. Crowd Pleaser 03/22/2007 at 10:19pm User: Diane from North Liberty, IA User Rating: This is the first recipe I've tried from this site, and the results were fantastic! I omitted the bittersweet chocolate and substituted toffee bits for the almond brickle. I ended up having to keep them in the oven quite a bit longer because I used a stoneware bar pan. I will also end up with over 3 dozen (probably closer to 6) because I am making a standard-size cookie. Hopefully they will freeze well. Excellent 03/22/2007 at 04:49pm User: krista from vista, CA User Rating: Most I gave it to said it was the best choc. chip cookie they had ever had. I really loved the addition of the toffee bits. Way to go Paula. Delicious!! 03/22/2007 at 02:13pm User: Kristine from Encinitas, CA User Rating: These are wonderful! I have replaced all the other "chocolate chip" cookie recipes in my recipe file with just this one. I baked about three dozen the first night and then refrigerated the rest of the dough until I could bake them the next day. It took about one more minute to bake the cookies when the dough was cold, but there wasn't any difference in the finished product. They disappeared just as fast! Yummy to my Tummy 03/22/2007 at 01:56am User: Regina from Hayward, CA User Rating: these were so good i could have ate 10 but I'm diabetic so I ate 2 only but these are simply the best and I recommend anyone who makes these will just love them to death cause they are a hit. Delicious 03/21/2007 at 05:19pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Great tasting cookies. THE BEST EVER CHOC.CHIP COOKIE! 03/20/2007 at 09:06am User: Christine from highland lakes, NJ User Rating: These cookies are easy to make and are the best chocolate chip cookie I have ever made... and I've made alot. The blending of the chocolate is key and the almond brickle or toffee bits is perfect.. I even found a raspberry swirl choc. chip and threw some of those in to... Great Cookie.... OK 03/20/2007 at 08:14am User: tERESA from NY, NY User Rating: I love all of Paula's recipes and I love chocolate, but I do think this was overkill. Actually too much chocolate chips, would decrease next time! Yummy 03/19/2007 at 05:01pm User: Maria from Cedar Park, TX User Rating: made these for friends and they were a hit!!! this is one serious cookie! 03/18/2007 at 11:52pm User: Jo Anne from Placentia, CA User Rating: My husband saw Paula make this on tv and said I HAD TO MAKE THESE FOR HIM. Oh my gaud! He ate only 1 HUGE (and I'm saying these cookies are HUGE) and he's comatose on the couch. Paula! You're the best! This is ONE AWESOME COOKIE! :) Awesome cookie! 03/17/2007 at 08:26pm User: Anonymous User Rating: We watched the episode with Paula creating these fabulous cookies and had to try them. We substituted the bittersweet chocolate with dark chocolate since it was a late night trip to the store...and we used toffee chips instead of the almond brickle chips...they were wonderful, melt in your mouth cookies. Easy to follow recipe and turned out perfectly! Yummy!! 03/17/2007 at 05:57pm User: Melissa from Clifton Park, NY User Rating: These cookies are delicious. I didn't have bittersweet chocolate, but I did have Hersheys special dark. I also tossed in some white chips, but next time I'll leave them out. I don't think they compliment the other chocolate flavors. Regardless, these were delicious!!! I got 30 cookies! I couldn't remember if Paula flattened the scoops of dough at all, so the first batch I didn't and then the others I did. I honestly didn't notice a difference. Next time I don't plan on flattening them. They are crisp on the outside and gooey in the center. Next time I think I'll take them out a minute earlier. I like soft chocolate chip cookies...not crispy. I baked mine between 11-12 minutes. I think next time I'll take them out at 11 on the dot. Thanks Paula - great cookies!!! Great Cookie Recipe 03/17/2007 at 12:16pm User: Wendy from Prattville, AL User Rating: This recipe was so easy to make. It makes a lot of cookies. My family loved it!!! Do you know those cookies is like eating 4 chocolate chips at one sitting. I made them for a girlfriend who is pregnant and under the weather. She also have a sweet tooth just like Michael. She loved it...nice and warm with a gallon of milk..tee hee. You should rename this cookie, Triple Sin Chocolate Chip Cookie! After all it's sinfully delicious! For Valentines day, I will add macadamia nuts in them...big chunky ones.....I can't wait. Move over chocolate dipped strawberries! Do you think if I added a 1/2 scoop more of the cookie dough and cook it longer, will I get me a bigger size cookie or will it burn? I just want to make it bigger and personalize it for Valentine's Day. I just wanted to say, I've told all my friends and got them watching you and all your party shows and even the boys Road tested. You have a great family and surely have been blessed thru the years. You may have lost your parents at a young age, but I think they have blessed you with their spirit throughout your years along with your brother Bubba. I love what you share, your talent and wisdom but most of all the love and passion we feel from what YOU love to do. Keep up the great work and hope one day I can come to Savannah and visit the Lady and Sons and Bubba's Rest. I just love see food....if you know what I mean...tee hee. Mahalo, Patti Domingo Your faithful fan Amazing 02/07/2007 at 08:46pm User: Jacob from Dakota Dunes, SD User Rating: The three different types of chocolate make this cookie delightful and satisfying.
