The anise flavor and basil really makes them pop. I used pernod because that's what I had, and they were excellent. You could probably use Sambucca too since it's mixed with half white wine, the sweetness probably wouldn't be too much. Simple and excellent! It is very easy and the taste is excellent. I saw the TV show and went with mussels that were grown on a rope. They were very clean and had no beards.
