I have always had problems getting my breading to stick to my okra and when I saw this show where she used buttermilk and told my husband about it he said he thought he remembered hearing that it was the key. So I tried this recipe and all I can say is yum! It was a huge hit! Now finally I can fry to perfection all of the fresh okra I have put up in my freezer thank you!

I made this recipe in a half batch without the chili sauce (made ranch dressing) and non-okra eaters loved it!
My 1 year old loves it!

Yummy, yummy! Even my picky 1 year old loves it! "Yum, Yum" he says and asks for more and more. I also fry up hot peppers with the same recipe(fried up last so as not to mix them up).

I'm from the South and have never been able to get the coating to stick to the okra when I fried it. Coating it with the buttermilk did the trick. I use more corn meal and less flour, but still turns out great. Thanks Paula for another great recipe!

Love this recipe. Fried okra has always been a favorite and this spicy dipping sauce is a perfect match. Not sure about the name though - don't see anything particularly cajun about it.
Easy and also good with Zucchini
