I have made these a few times. My husband and I think they are very good. It does take some time to prepare them. Guy prepared Cuban Pork Chops on the same show and they are excellent as well but, the recipe does not taste as good on steak.

i never had pototes quite like this the recipe alone was making my mouth water. well it is quite easy to make and the taste was out of this world.

These potatoes were better than expected. A great compliment to the pork chops. My next dinner club menu? Cuban Pork Chops w/ Mojo and Sofrito Mashed Potatoes. Guy...YOU ROCK!

I made this tonight and I added the three tablespoons of salt and it was way too salty...I think it was suppose to be three teaspoons.

I love all things potatoes! I think this was absolutely divine! I cooked it for some friends who came over and they are a bit food sheltered, so I was nervous they would freak. They loved it! I didn't use all of the sofrito-ness in the potatoes, it would've made all the taters soupy. Perhaps I could've used more potatoes. I personally wouldn't change a thing! It was a party for my mouth!!

I watched Guy's show a couple of weeks ago and decided I had all the ingredients, so why not try it for dinner that night. These recipes were a tremendous hit with my children and my husband. Now they request this meal at least once a week. It truly is easy and soooooo good!

I had high hopes and they were even better than expected. Very tasty. A bit more work than my usual batch of mashed potatoes, but worth it. I used half & half instead of heavy cream, accidentally put in twice as many onions as called for, and left out the green pepper, but they were great. Oh, and I left out the cilantro per my wife's request. Be sure not to over-mash them; you want them to be a bit chunky, not smooth.

We loved it! Thanks Guy! To reply to the "anonymous" person who said that he was a joke. Guy is not a joke - He is a real chef. I wish his show would air more often and we would get less of the ridiculous Semi Homemade show that teach us how to make something out of a box - that show IS a joke.

I have loved this recipe from day one. I served it up for some friends last night and they thought I was a food "goddess". I love all Guy's recipes since I cook with very similar flavors in my dishes. By the way my friends don't eat pork so I did a quick substitute with chicken and it worked just as well (Just don't marinade the chicken as long since the citrus will eat up the chicken if left for a long period of time.) Amazing!!! Thanks for sharing your delicious menu.

I think Guy cooks with such big flavors, and this one was lacking. That surprised me, considering the ingredients. It looked like sweet potatoes when it was done. For that reason, my boyfriend hardly touched them, and he loves potatoes!

I thought these were absolutley fabulous. Definately better than boring old mashed potatoes! Some people may not like them, but those are probably the same people that don't like to try new things or like flavorful food. "Plain Janes" as my mother-in-law would say. For anyone with a more sophisticated palette these potatoes are awesome!

The family loved this side dish. I loved it as well but it was time consuming considering it was my 1st time making it and that goodness I had watched the show before attempting this dish. The written recipe didn't have some of the short-cuts explained on the episode. Other than that... loved it. A good twist on plain mash potatoes.

The potatoes were awesome! I didnt think I would like the pepper mixture in the potatoes but wow! This was an increadible dish. There were none left over. Im having a rehersal dinner this Friday for my brothers wedding and will be putting this dish out for the guests. It is sure to please.

We wanted to love these potatoes--the ingredients read as if it would taste good. But...its not to our taste. Perhaps it was the tomato sauce and heavy cream...maybe it was the slightly weird color...whether it was taste or visual or both, we did not like it.

I had never used sofrito before and thought tomatoes in mashed potatoes yuck. But I love Guy so I tried it. OH my god that was the best I have ever tasted. My family could not get enough. I knew I could trust Guy and the food network.

These potatoes were so fresh and flavorful. The pepers really added to the dish. I make this on the regular now for an easy and delicioius twist on my regular homemade mashed potatoes. So far they have been a hit with both the Cuban Pork Chops with Mojo, as well as with a good old fashioned grilled ribeye!!!

THESE WERE SO DELICIOUS AND COLORFUL, TOO! I MADE SOFRITO ABOUT 1 HR. AHEAD & KEPT IT WARM IN 200 DEG.OVEN BEFORE MASHING POTATOES. FOR A LOWER FAT VERSION, I USED SMART BALANCE INSTEAD OF BUTTER & FAT FREE HALF&HALF INSTEAD OF HEAVY CREAM WITH EXCELLENT RESULTS!

I rated the pork chops that went with the potatoes the same. If you use 2 pounds of potatoes then it does not come out that great. Maybe if you added 4 pounds you would be good but the pototoes were very runny. Also if you cook the tomato paste for how long it says then it will burn since the pot at the time is very dry. I added the white wine before i started to have problems though.

I made one small change. I used cream cheese instead of heavy cream and they were awesome. Everyone loved them. I hope Guy tapes some more shows, I really enjoy his humor.

I loved these potatoes! They were so easy to make and so different than the norm. My husband, who does not normally care for mashed potatoes, told me that he loved them and they had so much flavor and he wants me to make them again real soon. Take note, these are a bit spicy and very full of flavor. If you only like regular mashed potatoes, don't make these and then give them a bad review.

I always thought garlic mashed potatoes were the deal BUT this is mashed potates to the max!! The color, the texture and the excitemrnt to the palate are the real deal!
