Wonderful potpourri 11/18/2007 at 04:45pm User: christina from polson, MT User Rating: I've been doing this for years only I simmer it on the stove and I also add vanilla and nutmeg to it. I love the way the whole house smells. I was so excited to see Paula does the same thing (only in the crockpot). Aunt Peggy's Potpourri 09/03/2007 at 01:32pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made this Potpourri and added some vanilla extract to the pot.I also used a small slow cooker that could be out of sight and took up little space and the small cooker still scented the house perfectly. Jodi 06/24/2007 at 09:54pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I put this in the crock pot and let it simmer all day and it smelled wonderful! Thanks! Fantastic at Christmastime 04/23/2007 at 01:00pm User: Gloria from Henderson, NV User Rating: I've made this before and it is a wonderful scent at Christmas and even in autumn. If you give this as a gift, put all of the ingredients in a mason jar and add a pretty bow. Be sure to include directions. You will have to use dried orange and lemon slices. As for the question of the lid: did you not read the part about cooking this in a crockpot? The idea is to slowwwwwwly simmer it with the lid on. The smell will fill your house completely. So pretty 04/21/2007 at 01:34am User: SUe from San Marcos, CA User Rating: I am simmering this on the stove right now because I don't have a crock pot handy. It smells nice and it looked gorgeous before the apples started to turn brown once it began to boil. In response to the reader who asked whether the lid should be on or off, I am guessing the lid should be off. I have a question for the other reader who said she made extra and gave some as gifts. How did you do that? Did you put the mixture in water or oil to preserve it? Silly question? 03/30/2007 at 07:31pm User: Beth from Indianapolis, IN User Rating: I made this but couldn't decide if I was supposed to leave the lid off or on. I tried it both ways but you couldn't smell it very well. Up close, it was wonderful. Anyone know? better than any potpourri 03/24/2007 at 07:36am User: kathleen from mundelein, IL User Rating: the house smells wonderful potpourri 03/18/2007 at 12:48pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I like the smell of lemon, so I personally use less orange and more lemon. I love the scent it gives and it can be used for days. I made extra, put in jars, and gave as gifts. |
