Excellent 07/13/2008 at 10:02pm User: Michelle from Denver, CO User Rating: I skipped the chutney part and made a Taziki sauce instead (Alton Brown Receipe) and then broke up the patties after they were cooked into smaller pieces and then served them in a wrap with the sauce, feta cheese, lettuce, & tomatoes. It was awesome, just like a Schawarma that we get at the Greek restaurants. Thanks Rachel, another amazingly simple yet wonderful dish. Did not work for my family 04/26/2008 at 08:06pm User: Alina from Greenlawn, NY User Rating: I thought that the mango chutney was not the best choice. Flavors just did not blend together very well. Easy, Scrumptious 04/26/2008 at 01:42pm User: Carri from Edina, MN User Rating: My family loved this! I used one pound of ground lamb and 1/2 pound ground beef. I was perplexed by the instructions to make 4 patties, I made 8 (leftovers are fantastic). Thank you Rachel for another great recipe! Yum-O! 03/07/2008 at 02:02pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This was a quick and delicious recipe. My husband and I really enjoyed how flavorful the chicken was, after adding the yogurt/herb mixture. I didn't have mango chutney, so I made a lebanese style yogurt, cucumber, and mint dip with sour cream. It was an excellent substitution. I will, however, try the mango chutney when I find some. Delicious! 03/04/2008 at 05:35pm User: Jennifer from Coplay, PA User Rating: I made these for a party this weekend and they were a big hit. They stayed so moist because of the yogurt! We served them with hummus instead of the chutney, but I'm sure that would be good too. Oh, and they make great leftovers. Easy and Very Tasty 02/27/2008 at 06:25pm User: Catherine from Gentry, AR User Rating: These were so simple I was able to lay out the ingredients and my husband put them together while I had my evening walk. I used ground turkey instead of chicken and just simply topped them with the yogurt instead of the mango chutney as I could not find it at my local grocery. SO similar to what our falafel man makes! 02/14/2008 at 09:09pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I've tried so hard to mimic what our falafel guy makes, but I've never gotten the spices right. This was IT! I used turkey, and I'm glad RR recommended lamb/chicken because any of this is lighter than the deep fried chickpeas that come in a regular falafel. I left out the mint because I don't like it in savory foods. But, the yogurt mixture was spot-on to the sauce in our favorite falafels. I left out the chutney because, as I mentioned, I wanted to mimic a falafel which does not have chutney. My husband LOVED this! He said, "you nailed the flavor of the falafel sauce!" Will make again for sure! Refreshing 09/07/2007 at 07:12am User: Anonymous User Rating: This was a refreshing twist on the old hamburger classic -- delicious. These were really great and unique. 09/03/2007 at 05:22pm User: Jen from Atlantic Beach, FL User Rating: We really enjoyed this variation on the classic burger. I used turkey instead of lamb/chicken. I made the mistake of cooking the meat an extra 2 minutes, making them a bit dry, but that was my own mistake. The herb mix was very delicious, and not something I would normally put together myself. Will definitly make these again! Thanks for another great recipe Rachael! good for adults 08/26/2007 at 04:14pm User: Chris from Portland, TX User Rating: I really like this recipe. My kids however thought the complex flavors too different. A good adult meal, date meal, or just for yourself. If kids are present may want to heat up some hot dogs also. Very good! 06/01/2007 at 03:37pm User: Kelly from Chicago, IL User Rating: This is a great, quick recipe. M only suggestion is to not go too heavy on the yogurt. It made it a bit challenging to cook the patty all the way through. Good 05/09/2007 at 04:57pm User: Lisa from Hattiesburg, MS User Rating: I added a small dollop of low-fat sour cream instead of the mango chutney and thought they were great. I will make again. Very tasty 04/15/2007 at 06:42pm User: Anonymous User Rating: These were super fast and easy to make and full of flavor. They can be made into mini patties to serve as appetizers for a party. Great!! 04/08/2007 at 05:44pm User: Maizie from Felton, DE User Rating: Loved it and I even accidently put too much yogurt in it. Opps! But it was still great!! Yummo 03/27/2007 at 04:56pm User: SUSAN from Valley Village, CA User Rating: The chicken patties are too good to describe. I added 1 garlic clove finely minced (I just love garlic)and everyone loved them. Also, I just had one reheated for lunch. You can't do this with regular burger but the yogurt in the mix kept it moist. Keep writing Rachel. You are the queen. Yummo! 03/26/2007 at 11:07pm User: Melissa from Twin Falls, ID User Rating: We loved this recipe, only I made the chicken into skewers and grilled on my grill pan to mimic a dish from our favorite Egyptian restaurant. It turned out so awesome! Great flavor! Flavorful! 03/21/2007 at 08:05pm User: Julie from Richmond, CA User Rating: These were very yummy. I used ground turkey. I added a clove of garlic and a serrano pepper to the herbs. It added a nice kick. I used regular yogurt that I strained myself. You can use a yogurt strainer or cheese cloth. Just let it drain over night in the fridge. These were the tastiet burgers I have had in a while. Will make again for sure! Yummy and easy. 03/19/2007 at 06:30pm User: Erika from Beaverton, OR User Rating: this recipe is great. But make sure you use the right kind of yogurt. Make a bunch of patties and re-heat during the week for lunch. Awesome 03/19/2007 at 11:38am User: Anonymous User Rating: These Chicken Patties were so good and easy to prepare. I will definitley be making them again |
