Beautiful, tasty, and a bit pricey 08/18/2007 at 06:49pm User: Sonya from San Mateo, CA User Rating: Very nice for a special occassion like a bridal shower or baby shower. Mostly a girly drink! It went down easy and the cutout fruits looked great. it kept nice and cold with the frozen juice ring (I just used a tupperware container to freeze--no fancy mold needed). It is a bit expensive for a punch. Superb! 08/05/2007 at 06:42pm User: Rebecca from Coeur d'Alene, ID User Rating: Loved it! Excellent flavor blend, will definately serve again. Only note, punch is pretty strong (sweet/syrupy-wise) so goes much better with either the champagne or more lemon-lime soda...or could try carbonated water. reply 07/16/2007 at 11:53pm User: Anonymous User Rating: good Magically Delicious 05/26/2007 at 08:22pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Instead of mint I used oregano. Instead of lemon lime soda, I used cola. My guests really enjoyed the frozen raw cranberries. Aunt Betty broke a tooth on one, but you can't please everyone. Punch crowd pleaser 05/06/2007 at 03:12am User: Anonymous User Rating: I made this punch for an Easter lunch and it got raves! Awesome 04/09/2007 at 11:43pm User: Anonymous User Rating: My la-la hurts after making this punch. it's the drink that eats like a dessert! 04/09/2007 at 06:19pm User: Rey from Attoquit, MA User Rating: I'm a new fan of the Semi-Cooking show and I was literally thrilled to try out my first recipe! This sparkling "punch" is really a sparking fruit salad! It reminded me of the old ads for Campbells Chunky Soup: So thick you can eat it with a fork! But the chef made such a great mix of flavors and fruit textures that you need to get the liquid, too! I think it would get caught up in a straw, even the extra wide ones they have at McDonalds, so it's best to enjoy the chilled sweet flavors with a spoon. Thank you Food Network and "Aunty" Sandy for such a delicious refresher! Punch Leeches 04/07/2007 at 12:41pm User: BessyB from BOWLEGS, OK User Rating: I made this for a bunco bridal shower. As the ice ring melted, the whole mint leaves began to float about in the punch. I was so embarrassed as one leaf stuck to the bride's to be top lip. She didn't notice it for the longest time. The mint leaf looked like a green leech. very pretty punch 04/07/2007 at 11:47am User: Cari from neversink, NY User Rating: I made this for my bookclub meeting last night, and it was a big hit. I seem to remember my mom doing something like this with the frozen ice ring years ago. Good to know Sandra is reviving old ideas, like how she did with the crockpot. I made the grown-up version and everyone loved the fruit flowers floating on top. Very pretty. But as mentioned by someone else, it was kind of expensive to make. So I only gave it 2 stars. |
