We didn't have sherry so we used red wine and we didn't have seasme (sp?) seeds but it still came out VERY tasty. we marinanted it for a couple hours before cooking and made some extra to put on after too, can't wait to make it again.

Incredible marinade and moist chicken thighs

I've made this meal 7 times since I came across the recipe. This stands out as the best marinade for chicken I've ever found. I make a double batch of the marinade, use half on the thighs and wisk vegetable oil into the balance which makes a great chinese chicken salad dressing. I don't care for fresh ginger, which is the only thing I leave out of the recipe.

fantastic!

i cannot express how delicious this recipe is! very full of flavor and tastes better than what we can get at the restaurants. i was leary of using the thighs but they made the dish! the fat dripped off and away from the meat so all that was left was perfect chicken flavor. dont use breasts! the thighs are just so tasty!

good teriyaki sauce

These were excellent use for thighs. The sauce far exceeds what you can buy in a bottle.

Made this recipe and received rave reviews from friends. Removed skin from thighs, pierced meat with a fork so marinade could penetrate and let marinade for about 3-4 hours. Used the outdoor grill, cooking about 8 minutes per side and had some great tasting chicken.

Made both soba noodle salad and teriyaki chicken thighs without alteration. Great combination!! BF, who is NOT a healthy eater, especially loved the salad. Will take salad to summer potlucks. No one would ever know that it's healthy!

This was so easy to put together before going to work. Ready when I got home. Just put in under the broiler and instant dinner for hungry kids. Tasted fantistic. The kids could not stop saying how good it was and wanted 2nds. Followed the recipe without the skin and it remained very moist. The recipe did not say anything about a side sauce for dipping. Was this made from the marinade?

This was a wonderful dish. It cooked perfectly and the teriyaki marinade wasn't too strong on the chicken. It was the perfect flavor level.

My entire family loved this dish! I used about 2 1/2 pounds of chicken and for our family of four it was almost not enough! Easy recipe and very very good. I am looking forward to trying this marinade with other meats.

This was delicious! You should note that the chef has skinless thighs in her ingredients, but also that you should place the thighs skin side down in the directions. I used boneless skinless thighs. It took less time to cook. About 6 minutes the 1st side and 4-5 the other side w/ the sesame seeds. Then I let them rest a few minutes. They were great! One of the best parts was the cripies on the edges, I think you definitely have to stick with the broiling method to get this effect. Enjoy!

Yummy!

I used this marinade on chicken wings. When I first put them in the pan, I thought the sauce would be too thin, but it thickens nicely during the cooking process. Really nice flavor and very easy.

I make this every week and double the recipe. I tend to eat it cold while I am making dinner - usually another one of Ellie's gems, or chop it and put it into an Asian Salad!

This recipe is really really good. I make this without the ginger and red pepper flakes and it still turns out wonderfull. I've recommended this recipe to all of my friends and they are all hooked on it too. I also used this marinade on a pork loin and it was wonderfull too. I'm going to try this with some other items and see how it turns out but somehow I think that it will go with every thing.

Very Tasty

I really liked this recipe, and was surprised that broiling the chicken didn't dry it out. I marinated the chicken for one hour, and the flavor is really infused into the chicken. It's very tasty. Like someone else mentioned, it really doesn't need any extra sauce for dipping, but I would probably make some anyway, because the sauce is so good I wanted to put some on my rice.

I marinated the chicken for about 4 hours and omitted the sesame seeds. My husband grilled the thighs on our gas grill. We both agreed that the marinade was very good and didn't overpower the flavor of the chicken itself. Will definitely make again as the recipe was simple and satisfying.

The recipe is extremely easy to follow and the results were fantastic. my husband was hoping for some sauce on the side to dip into, but this recipe really doesn't need any. The marinating truly infuses into the chicken and leaves it with much flavor.
