I made a special trip to the store for cornmeal, not worth my trip at all. But if you have the stuff on hand and need a wholesome dinner now, go for it. I added morebutter milk as they were too crumbly without doing so. I also would add more salt. I did not peek while they were covered. I wanted a softer, fluffier dumpling, HELP... My family was very pleased and I was impressed to how easy it was to make. The dumplings were so flufy they melted im your mouth and the flavers complimented each one with every bite.
