This looked so good on the show that I had to try it! Though I'd heard about the balsamic vinegar with strawberries many years ago, I'd never tried it. Don't hesitate! What a wonderful, decadent desert.

Easy & flaverfull

Super easy to prep and very flaverfull. This desert is heavier tasting than my liking, but lemon zest and strawberries counter. You need more than 1 tsp. of gelatin, though. (more like 1 1/2 tsp.) Otherwise, it is a great hit among my friends.

Delicious!

Tastes like vanilla ice cream. And the strawberries make this a wonderful dessert.

Best thing I've ever made. Had 8 people for dinner. Everyone raved. When strawberries are out of season, believe this could be made with blackberries or rasberries. Absolutely divine.

We really enjoyed this Panna Cotta

I made this Panna Cotta as a special treat - my husband really enjoyed it. I used vanilla bean paste and vanilla yogart - it was easy to make, I just used my favorite sherbert dishes rather than try to get it out of ramekins. Great dessert, I will certainly make it again - nice presentation for when having friends over for dinner!

simple and delicious

this is the most creamy luscious dessert I have ever made. The vanilla flavor is simply out of this world. I cannot rave enough about it. I sure miss Ina on Saturday's with new episodes.

This is an excellent dessert, super easy and beautiful on the plate. I served it this weekend to rave reviews and requests for the recipe. The tartness of the yogurt in the panna cotta is the perfect balance to the vinegar and pepper in the strawberries. I can't wait to make this again.

Fantastic

I served this wonderful dessert at a dinner party last night, and they were wonderful. Creamy, sweet, tangy, all of the these, and the strawberries with balsamic vinegar and pepper, pure genius. Ina never fails to hit a home run with a recipe. I doubled this and made it the day before. Very easy. It also makes a very nice presentation. All four women requested the recipe.

A Wonderful Dessert

I loved this dessert. It came out perfect. I am not sure what Pasadena did but obviously she did not follow the directions properly. I used "Fage" yogurt which I think is the best. Thick and creamy.I have always wanted to try the balsamic vinegar on strawberries and this was the way to use them. You're the best Ina. Love the show. Christine Centerville,MA

Best Panna cotta ever

I have made panna cotta in the past, but this was the best. After reading the reviews I increased the gelatin by 1/4 teaspoon and used vanilla yogurt instead of plain. Since the yogurt was sweetened I decreased the sugar to 3 tablespoons. I also used brown sugar instead of plain sugar in the strawberries. Wow!

Fantastic

I love most of Ina's recipes. She, Tyler and Giada are my favorite, but I have to be honest. This recipe is not very good. I had no problems with it setting. The problem was the taste. It wasn't sweet although I followed the recipe. It's something that I will not do again.

runny and sour

My experiences with Ina Garten's recipes are either wonderful or awful, and this one was awful. I let it set overnight and it was still runny, would not hold it's shape, and didn't taste like a creamy and rich panna cotta. It was sour (hmm, like sour cream!) and not anything like the panna cotta I've had in the past. I didn't bother with the balsamic strawberries because the dish was not presentable to serve with anything.

I love Ina's show and watch it everyday. Most recipes are things I wouldn't normally make which makes the show interesting. I make more of the foods that Paula Deen makes but I just love Ina and would love to meet her some day. This was the best dessert I've ever put in my mouth. Tart, sweet, light, creamy, and the balsamic vinegar although I thought was strange just set it off. Hugs to Ina, Sherri Smith

I was surprised

Well, Ina said she knew it sounded weird, but as weird as it really did sound it was oh SO good! This was a nice light dessert that can be made in advance of entertaining and looks elegant and tastes great! I will make it again...thanks Ina!

I had a dinner party for a very special occasion. This was the hit of the century. Everyone tried to guess what the "secret" ingredient was, and all were shocked when it was revealed. The next time I served the strawberries in the balsamin vinegar, I made a cheesecake, served on a puddle of hot fudge, and drizzled the strawberry mixture over the top. Wow! What an explosion of flavor. Another great hit. Thank you Ina Garten. This is the best ever way to serve strawberries. Also try it over plain vanilla ice cream. Yum!

So easy to make! It's a delicious and impressive dessert to serve. I did not have a vanilla bean so substituted with vanilla yogurt. Ina's recipes always turn out fantastic.

I didn't care for the addition of the yogurt in the recipe. I've made several panna cottas in the past and this was my least favorite. Tasted more like yogurt than a true dessert. For all the calories you're consuming, I just didn't think it was worth it. Strawberries were just OK. Didn't think it was great.

good but tastes like vanilla yogurt!

I'm a bit perplexed about this recipe. I've heard of panna cotta and was looking forward to trying it. The dessert was good but I felt like I could get almost the same effect with a good vanilla yogurt, and for far less work! But it is a simple and lovely dessert.

LOVE INA!

Panna cotta is one of the best kept secrets of Italian cuisine, and here Ina uses it well. It can be paired with many different fruits. An Italian favorite is Amarene cherries, but strawberries with balsamic vinegar are far more accessible. Ina rocks!
