My guests were guinea pigs last Friday with all new recipes. This one caught my eye. What a perfect hors-d'oeuvre. If you'd like to impress guests like I did, this is surely the way. Makes quite a bit - about 1 1/2 baquettes

I made this recipe as a last minute thought and it was so easy and so yummy. Everyone loved it and asked for the recipe. I even made it w/o the onion one time and it was still terrific.

Yum!

The flavors were fabulous together. Great combination. It did take closer to 30 minutes to reduce the "jam" but well worth waiting for - it was terrific!

A hit with my guests

I made this appetizer for a party last night and it was a complete hit. I had my reservations about it. I modified the recipe as others had suggested by cutting back on the water. But I found at the end it had too strong of a vinegar flavor and I had to add some sugar to balance it. Next time I make it I'll try following the recipe and see how that works. Regardless, it was a complete hit and every last piece was eaten. Oh - another great thing was that I made the jam and the goat cheese the night before, so all I had to do before the party was warm up the jam and toast the bread. Definite thumbs up for the "make ahead" factor.

Great great great!

I LOVE this recipe. Not only does the sun-dried tomato jam work wonderfully on the crostini, but it works great on sandwiches. I throw it in the fridge and use the leftovers as a special little addition to my sandwiches. The jam takes a while to cook down (longer than Giada suggests), but it's well worth the wait!

This recipe is delicious! I deducted a star because it took almost an hour to reduce to a jam-like consistency. I would halve the water next time. Nevertheless, this is one of the best appetizers I've ever eaten!

Easy and Delicious

This is a to die for dish. I've made it probably 2 times a month since I first tried it. It's great as a side dish, or for friends to enjoy. Heck I've even make it for game day..delicious food is never too fancy! *my little tid bit, is only do a 1/2 of water instead of a whole cup b/c it tends to come out a little runny if not, but maybe that's just me ;)

Awesome

Love the recipe. Friends ask that I make it for them when I invite them over. A little pricey but a nice appetizer. We use any leftovers, when we have them, on burgers. Delicious!!!

This sun-dried tomato jam has a wonderful aroma while reducing. I am a big fan of goat cheese and this was a great topper. For those who are not fond of goat cheese, I suggest putting just a tiny amount on the top. It really adds to the overall flavor.

I could (and did) make these a meal

I made these crostini to go along with some mediocre ravioli but they ended up taking center stage. They are simple to make though a little time consuming, and a little on the expensive side for an appetizer. My total cost as about $15.

Flavorful use for sun-dried tomatoes and very easy to make. I'm not fond of goat cheese; ricotta cheese made a lovely substitute. I'll make this again.

My husband and I saw this on the show and thought it sounded great.....we were wrong....it was awesome!! Sweet and savory and the favors were layered and complex. I don't care for goat cheese so we did it with ricotta and grated pecorino romano....but if you like goat cheese, I could see where it would be a perfect accompaniment.

My guests loved this and could have just eaten this for dinner. Next time I will decrease the water and know that it takes much longer to reduce than stated. I put out the bread, goat cheese and STD jam and let people do their own thing. I couldn't get the guests out of the kitchen. Even my husband who is not fond of goat cheese ate it like crazy.

Wow What a Recipe!

My husband and I don't entertain a lot but when I saw Giada fix this on her show, I knew I had to try it. It was wonderful! Definately something I would make for guests. The jam itself would be good on toasty bakery bread in the morning or as a snack with a cup of tea! Kathy Russell Hilliard, Ohio

This looks and tastes much more impressive than the time it took to make - it was easy. I added more onion (I love onions) and took another reviewers advice and added a bit less water, (a little less than a 1/4C). Even with less water it does take longer to cook down than stated in the recipe. Garlic-Herb goat cheese worked great on the top. Just soften the cheese by leaving out,cut a small piece from the corner of the package and squeeze out a small bit onto each crostini -- GREAT! Everyone loved it!

This was easy and unbelievably impressive. So delicious with the mix of sweet (but not too sweet) and savory (from the goat cheese). My husband doesn't even like goat cheese and he bit into it and couldn't believe how lucious this tasted. Can't wait to make it for company!

Jam was ok but with goat cheese--yuck. I like goat cheese but not like this. I thought flavors were way off. I ended up having to make alot of changes to recipe before I could serve to guests and even then I wasn't in love with the overall product. Try before counting on this recipe for company.

This does take some time to make & far more time than stated on the recipe to reduce, but well worth it. I added some lemon oil to the goat cheese mixture and I think that made it a little more interesting and also more appealing to those that don't generally care for goat cheese. A real winner.

THis had a deep, sweet, rich tomato taste--a little goes a long way. The goat cheese offset the tangy sweetness though and most of my guests seemed very pleased. Took me a lot longer to evaporate liquid into jam--I finally cranked up the heat to almost boil and it thickened up. Very good.

This recipe was 'just okay' for a Giada recipe. My liquid cooked off really fast and almost burned the tomatoes. Really wasn't a jam consistancy either. The goat cheese was the only redeeming factor.

This jammy, sundried tomato crostini is truly heaven. Giarda claims it was her grandmothers recipe that her family makes time and time again. I guess I'm part of the DeLaurentis family now because I'll be making this time and time again too. It is SO easy to make and one of my guests exclaimed that she LOVED this recipe even though she doesn't ordinarily like sundried tomatoes. she also added, "This is a keeper. E-mail me the recipe tomorrow!"

I made this as an appetizer for my husband and I one night. We both thought it was delicious, how can you go wrong with sun dried tomatoes and goat cheese. It did take me a really long time to boil off the liquid to get it a jam consistancy, I would probably decrease the amount of water if I made the recipe again.
