um yeah just disappointed 10/29/2007 at 10:58pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I'm a huge fan of Giada's recipes, but this one fell far short (at least for me) they weren't crunchy at all, kinda blah. Even though I followed the recipe perfectly :( delicious 09/03/2007 at 04:17pm User: Anonymous User Rating: it's a heavenly treat, but not a diet one for sure Great, but watch the timing 09/02/2007 at 07:25pm User: Greg from Erie, PA User Rating: This is a great recipe but you really have to watch the timing when melting the caramel in the oven. The recipe calls for 8 minutes. I had them in for 5 and the caramel was already bubbling and got hard on my first try. Second time I made them I kept them in for only 4 minutes and they turned out perfect. Could be my oven though. Nicely Chewy 08/27/2007 at 12:22pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The caramel is nice & chewy, a little crunch for the alomonds and the sweetness comes from both white and bittersweet chocolate!! Why buy candies when you can make them!!!!!! =D Okay recipe 08/26/2007 at 07:58pm User: Michele from Albuquerque, NM User Rating: I took others advice and really greased the pan. They did just pop out. It was an easy recipe, but it tasted just okay. Great little Goodies! 08/26/2007 at 11:53am User: Joni from Athens, GA User Rating: I have been looking for a recipe like this for years! What a quick and simple way to make a yummy treat. I went a little over the top with this already great recipe and added half a marshmellow on top of the hot caramel once it came out of the oven. I let them sit a minute or so until the marshmellow melted a bit. Tip: put the pans in the freezer instead of fridge and they pop right out! Thanks Giada! Delicious and easy 08/25/2007 at 04:36pm User: Lynnette from Albany, LA User Rating: This was a very easy recipe to do. It is delicious and everyone in my family loves it. Try it. perfect 08/20/2007 at 11:57am User: Anonymous User Rating: They are easy to make and so yummy to eat!!! Perfect! 08/19/2007 at 11:37pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Sweet, chewy and perfect! Another great recipie from Giada! great taste 08/03/2007 at 05:17am User: Anonymous User Rating: they taste marvelous and are easy to make Thick Chocolat 08/01/2007 at 04:04pm User: Diane from Pasadena, CA User Rating: I put the cream in to make the chocolate less thick, but even with the approved amount my bittersweet chips were thick when covering. Also, this may be a stupid question, but are these supposed to be hardened and able to be at room temperature or do they have to be refrigerated. The recipe does not state this and the chocolate never really hardens if you take them out of the refrig. Like the taste tho! i loved it 07/18/2007 at 10:38pm User: n from Tarawa Terrace, NC User Rating: i really enjoyed making this ive made it several times since i first saw the show i even added different kinds of nuts it tasted great with a mixer of pecans, almonds, and walnuts. very good but hard on the teeth! 07/07/2007 at 06:52pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I have never made anything like this before and would now like to use some variations like different nuts/chocolates, etc. I toasted the almonds a little too long, but these still turned out great- hard to get out of the pan, I agree- but very good for parties- just watch how you bite because they are very hard and chewy. yummy but did it my way! 07/07/2007 at 04:44pm User: Judi from Port Charlotte, FL User Rating: After reading all the reviews on how hard it was to take out of the pan even after a heavy pam spraying...I decided to melt/soften the carmels in the mircowave, added the nuts of choice, then with a teaspoon, placed on waxed paper,,,,when hard enough, dipped in the chocolate mixture...no problems!! tasted like turtle with pecans............Judi Hill Port Charlotte, Fl. Peanuts and Chocolate Clusters 07/05/2007 at 12:42pm User: Sandra from Gardena, CA User Rating: This recipe was great quick and simple. I love peanuts more than I do almonds and I had to add just a little more caramel to hold the peanuts together more firmly. Not good recipe 07/04/2007 at 08:43pm User: Michael from lafayetee, LA User Rating: First, the things do not "pop" out of the muffin tins... you have to use a knife. Secondly, don't put the cream in the chocolate. Waste of time and money. Goooooooooooooddddddd 07/03/2007 at 10:47pm User: Michelle from Midland, TX User Rating: A family favorite Too "hard" to eat 07/03/2007 at 06:04pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I usually love Giada's recipes, however I won't be making this again. Like other reviews mine were really difficult to get out of the pan and I did coat the pan liberally. After prying them out I almost broke a tooth trying to eat one. The combination of very hard and very sticky can be really hard on the teeth, be cautious when eating these. Delicious, but tricky 07/03/2007 at 01:50pm User: Laura from Little Rock, AR User Rating: These little treats are soooo good, but I had a hard time getting mine to just fall out of the pan as I saw Giada's do on TV (I even went heavy on the no-stick spray). I had to use a knife and pop them out one by one - which is why they got 4 starts and not 5. Otherwise, they are super simple and yummy. I've also made them with pecans instead of almonds and they are tasty, but I think the recipe works better with the almonds because of their texture. awesome 07/02/2007 at 01:58pm User: Anonymous User Rating: her friends must be in heaven with what she cooks UGH 06/30/2007 at 02:33pm User: Kelly from Warrenton, VA User Rating: Toasted almonds, cut caramels, made sure the pan was properly greased, watched them in the oven to no avail. They still came out to hard to get out of the pan. AMAZING 06/29/2007 at 03:56pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Ive never made candy before and these turned out to be a hugeeee success with my friends and family that i shared them with didn't work 06/27/2007 at 01:44pm User: Sarah from Tustin, CA User Rating: I tried to make this. First, I didn't put enough oil in the pans, so the carmel would not pop out. But, that was my fault. Then, when I added the cream to the chocolate, it would not harden as well. So, two things I would do is make sure really really grease the pans well. Then don't add the cream to the chocolate, just melt and coat. Yummy but messy 06/26/2007 at 12:49am User: Allisha from Rancho Cucamonga, CA User Rating: Make sure you don't toast the almonds before adding the caramel, my sister and I did and the caramel then burnt.. the clusters were savable but barely. Yummy 06/24/2007 at 08:49pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Yummy in my Tummy (; sweet treat that's fun to make! 06/24/2007 at 08:48pm User: Amy from Brunswick, GA User Rating: These turned out really well and were so fun to put together! These seem great to just have around all the time but fancy enough for a party too. The semisweet chips make them sweet and rich, while the white makes them more buttery. yum! WONDERFULLLLLLLL 06/24/2007 at 01:31pm User: Anonymous User Rating: GREAT MAING, LOOKJS GOOD AND TASTE SOOOOO GOOD. SHE MAKES ME PROUD TO BE AN ITALIAN FABULOUS 06/23/2007 at 05:41pm User: Anonymous User Rating: i loooooove giada, she is wonderful! this was absolutely delicious and cute. it serves as great gifts and is just soo pretty to look at! ummm! 06/23/2007 at 01:36pm User: julie from durham, NC User Rating: this is such a good recipe and I cant wait to do it again ! i just love the chocolate covering and i some times even make a j out of white chocolate on top of then . Good overall 02/14/2008 at 07:57pm User: mel from san francisco, CA User Rating: caramel goes really well with chocolate. i prefer it a little harder like brittle, but it was still very good overall. i put the melted caramel in the freezer to speed up the hardening process. remember not to leave it in for more than 5 mins so it'll be easier to pop out. also, cream could be optional. |
