The chicken was excellent and easy. However, the basil butter is a winner for so many other uses. So far with leftover butter, I have marinated cooked shrimp in it, added 1/4c to 1 med onion, sliced, and sauteed with two zucchini, sliced, finished with two chopped canned plum tomatoes and the butter. Great with fish, pasta--you name it. Thanks, Paula.

I grow my own herbs, so I was interested in using the basil. This recipe is beyond amazing and easy. I put some basil in the butter to baste the chicken as well. Best chicken recipe I have!!!

Loved this!

I grow basil in my garden and am always looking for new recipes to utilize it. I happened to see Paula make this and I served it for dinner the same day! It was excellent and so easy! After taking the chicken off the grill, I put a dollop of basil butter on each piece. My kids fought over the extra butter that went on the Italian bread. I did use a "heaping" 2 TBSP of basil( more like 3) in the butter. I'll make this again and again! Heated well the next day in the microwave too!

This is a great summer dish that I have been grilling for 18 years! This is actually a "Southern Living" 5 star recipe from 1990. Goes great with another Southern Living recipe "Spinach Strawberry Salad with Poppy Seed Dressing" & fresh silver queen corn on the cob!

Loved it!

This would be great for company. Simple, easy and impressive. I saved the basil/paremsan/garlic butter and used it to make a spread for garlic bread. Yummy

Fabulous Chicken!

my husband loves basil, so I am always trying to find new things that he likes. He really liked this chicken, and we had extra of the basil butter mixture that goes on top, so we doubled it as a garlic toast spread, and it was awesome!

Really nice

It was awesome! The dish tasted so fresh. I recommend to only use fresh basil, not the dried stuff! I think this recipe would be great to serve at a summer dinner party with friends, and kids will even enjoy it, mine did! I will definately make this again! Thanks, Paula.

The chicken was very juicy and full of flavor. The butter made the chicken brown beautifully on the grill (I used a stove-top grill, but it worked just as well). I served this with some creamy pasta and it was amazing.

I've never heard such sounds of pleasurement coming from my husband as I did while he ate his chicken. He ate the reserved butter by the spoonful, proclaiming he had never tasted anything so wonderful in his life (and we lived in Italy for a while). Although I feared he might die from a clogged artery, at least I knew he would have died and gone to heaven.

oh my gosh! What can I say? Paula pulled it off again with this recipe! I recommend wrapping the chicken in foil on top of the grill for at least a few minutes unless you can really regulate the flames from sparking up due to the butter...the chicken was mouth watering and the basil butter was absolutely delicious! Thanks Paula...I finally found a chicken recipe that my family WANTS to eat!
