very chocolaty, but the texture is different, i thought it would be smooth and creamy. ITs smooth but kinda bumpy. I liked it much more in the morning the texture was better. I would recomend making "chocolate decadence" from allrecipes.com if you are looking for a fantastic, romantic, creamy chocolaty dessert, its easier to make and tastes way better.

Delicious and perfect for the chocolate lover!

This recipe was really quite easy and unique. The texture IS somewhat grainy and 'mushy', but I think that is how it's intended to be. The taste is silky, rich, pure dark chocolate and the whipped cream is a perfect complement. Eat it slightly warm (maybe about 3-4 hours after taking it out of the oven) with the cool amaretto whipped cream on top and it is Heaven! I found it easy to put together, but one note: when heating the whole milk with the vanilla and sugar (to dissolve the sugar), try not to overheat it. I did, and the whole milk turned slightly curdled. No worries... when you strain the mixture and whisk in the eggs and chocolate, it should smoothen out (if this should happen to you too). Also, make sure you use TOASTED almonds. I didn't read the recipe and just tossed the untoasted on; the dessert came out fine, but the almonds were bland and chewy because they absorbed the mositure of the chocolate mixture while baking. Next time, I will toast the almonds and maybe toss them on AFTER the dessert bakes, to keep the crunch. If at first you don't succeed with this, keep trying... especially if you are a chocoholic like me. The rewards are indeed yummy and great. I will make this one again.

Good but seperated

I followed this recipe exactly and it didnt turn out right. The chocolate seperated from the other stuff. The top was chocolate and the bottom was like a gooey pudding looking stuff. It still tasted ok but i think it would have been better if it turned out how Giadas did.

not that great

this recipe was just okay. I followed it exactly and it just taste like soggy chocolate brownie. I strained the mixture like the direction but still the texture was slightly grainy. Definitely not "silky custard" like Giada said.

Non-chocolate Lovers even like it!

I made this for one of the Thanksgiving '07 desserts. Everyone loved it, even though it was a little mushy and hard to transer from the pan to a plate. A friend who does not regularly enjoy chocolate even fell in love with this dish!

Loved it!

I loved this dessert. I followed the recipe exactly, and it turned out perfect. I think the key is to really let it sit for 30 minutes, otherwise its too mushy. I garnished it with raspberries and made my own whip cream. I also through some more almonds on top of the whip. I'm making it for Thanksgiving. Delicious!

Loved it!

This is one of the best chocolate desserts I've ever had! It's like a mouth full of the gooey goodness like the insides of a chocolate molten lava cake. Although it's a bit rich, so a little bit goes a long way.

Amazing chocolate taste!

I really really liked this recipe. It is so unique tasting and very easy to prepare. I would only make a few changes next time. I will omit the almonds. I liked the texture of the dessert without them. Also, I would use half the sugar. It seemed sweet enough with the chocolate chips. I did not have time to make the amaretto whipped cream. I just used canned whipped cream which worked fine if you're in a hurry. :)

Chocolate heaven...

Too mooshy

As a chocoholic I was disappointed by this recipe. Chocolate taste was great but felt the result was too mooshy. It looked just like Giada's, though. I'm a big fan of hers but will not make this recipe again. Texture was like an eggy barely binded together mousse. :(

is how we say in spanish delicioso is great

It tasted good, but I guess I didn't mix it well enough before cooking...it was really liquidy. Anyway, the chocolate and egg/milk mixture separated.

Good

I had to sub semi-sweet for the bittersweet because could not find it. But it was good.
