Great meal, different twist

This meal is great and easy to make. I just have one twist, instead of sherry I use a red cabernet and it is not as sweet. It's wonderful, try it!

Not too bad. I have actually started using sherry in other recipes as well. I think my "testers" think more of "something" is needed in the rice, but all in all.. a winner.

The beef tips smelled so good, therefore I was very dissapointed to find that it lacked flavor. The rice was good but my husband thought it tasted more like dessert with the orange and lemon rind, but that was just his taste buds. I might try the rice again but will probably only use the lemon. The toasting up of the rice was an excellent idea, it made the texture of the regular long grain cooking rice much better, not so sticky. I will do this from now on no matter what rice recipe I make.

I made this tonight for dinner and we all LOVED it...my 6 year old chowed down. My husband loved the meat but did not care for the rice. He likes just plain white Japanese rice. This will be something I will make often. By the way it was so easy to make!

I served this rice with a pork loin roast that I cooked on the grill with gator wood and black beans. It was wonderful and my husband loved it.

I made this last night and we thought it would have a lot of flavor but it was pretty bland. If I make it again I will add more spices of some sort to it. It did look and smell great though.
