best turkey burger 07/17/2008 at 06:06pm User: Anonymous User Rating: unique taste: very moist & not too sweet we thought these were interesting... 07/11/2008 at 10:13pm User: Donna from Fayetteville, NC User Rating: I made the burgers and the sweet potatoe french fries tonight. My entire family loved them, with the exception of my picky 9 year old, he took one bite and said "momma my burger tastes like a pancake!" I think they did have kind of a sauagey flavor, I think next time I may use a smaller amount of poultry seasoning and syrup. I followed the recipe to the letter! I will definately make these again, and will continue watching Semi homemade for future fun recipes. Kid-Friendly 07/11/2008 at 08:46pm User: Carolyn from West Friendship, MD User Rating: After watching this episode the other day, I made these burgers for my family, and even my picky two year-old ate it. If you are going to put it on a bun, the sauce is very important, as the bread and turkey can be very dry without the sauce. It took me about 5 minutes to mix the burger ingredients, so it is a great, quick weeknight meal! I also put the meat in the refrigerator before making the patties as other suggested, and it was very easy to handle. very good 07/11/2008 at 06:55pm User: TAMMIE from Fitchburg, MA User Rating: I followed the recipe exactly and it was VERY tasty! Does have a sausage flavor to it. I am def going to try another person's suggestion and make them into mini meatballs and serve the dijon-mayo as a dipping sauce Good Burger- Interesting Flavor 07/10/2008 at 06:37pm User: Laura from Ridgewood, NJ User Rating: I just made these burgers the other night and my husband really liked them. They were certainly interesting- but in a pleasing way. I used regular applesauce and real bacon that I coooked and chopped up, although I didn't feel that I tasted the bacon all that much. I refrigerated the meat like someone suggested and made sure I greased my grill- they kept together with no problems. Not my very favorite burger, but they were good and since my husband liked them, I'll make 'em again. Still licking my lips 07/09/2008 at 09:18pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This was the best turkey burger I have ever eaten. i followed the directions exactly and put them in the fridge for a while after making the patties. they were awesome! dONT FORGET THE MAPLE DIJON MAYO-ITS COMPLETES THE BURGERS. MY HUSBAND WAS NOT HAPPY TO HEAR WE WERE GRILLING TURKEY BURGERS BUT ONCE HE ATE THEM HE THUGHT THEY WERE SOOOO GOOD. I JUST WISH I COULD FIND ORGANIC CHUNKY APPLESAUCE-IT WOULD HAVE MADE THEM THAT MUCH HEALTHIER. Better Than the Average Burger 07/09/2008 at 06:47pm User: Melissa from Sleepy Hollow, NY User Rating: This was a great recipe. We used regular apple sauce instead of chunky, and they came out just fine. My only recommendation is that you refrigerate the meat for about an hour after mixing in the ingredients so that it doesn't fall apart on you. Came out great - thanks for the reviews posters 07/07/2008 at 11:26pm User: George from New York, NY User Rating: After reading the other reviews, I decided to cut back a bit on the applesauce and maple syrup. This came out wonderful. Tip for all of you: DO NOT use fake maple syrup (maple flavored corn syrup! I am pretty sure that using real Vermont syrup is what kept the flavor and sweetness from overpowering the turkey. Quick, easy and very tasty 06/07/2008 at 04:02pm User: Marcus from Detroit, MI User Rating: Great for a change up to your regular burger routine. Have made this with regular 96% hamburger meat and was even better! Very nice. A family favorite now. Turkey Burgers 04/08/2008 at 03:25pm User: Anonymous User Rating: These were wonderful! My whole family loved them. These are going on my weekly menu! The sauce was amazing. LOVE THEM! 02/06/2008 at 10:38am User: Briana from Annapolis, MD User Rating: These turkey burgers are amazing! I love them. The recipe makes a nice batch so I wrap them individually in foil and stick them in the freezer. Then, I just pull them out and they defrost quickly for a quick healthy dinner! I don't like mayo, but ketchup tastes great with these burgers. Definitely a weekly meal! Apple Maple Turkey Burgers 01/25/2008 at 02:45pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The turkey burgers are very easy to make and it is a good change from hamburgers. My grandchildren beg me to make this burger because they like the sweetness from the maple syrup and the taste of apples in the burgers. This one definitely a big hit around this house. Excellent 12/11/2007 at 02:08pm User: Nevin from Melbourne Beach, FL User Rating: This was a very good recipe for ground turkey. I would go a little light on the maple syrup next time. For me it was a little sweet. but I don't like very sweet stuff anyway...... Pleasantly surprised 12/08/2007 at 09:19pm User: Kelly from Hilliard, OH User Rating: I was very nervous about these burgers. After mixing the turkey with the other ingredients it was like mush. After some time on the grill they came out really good. A Family Favorite 11/27/2007 at 08:53pm User: barbara from McKinney, TX User Rating: These burgers were delicious and flavorful. I forgot to grease the grill so they stuck but finishing up in the microwave did the trick. The Maple Dijon Sauce was such a delicious compliment with these burgers. My family just loved this receipe. Barbara, McKinney, TX Excellent Turkey Burgers 11/27/2007 at 05:27pm User: Alicia from Reno, NV User Rating: These turkey burgers were very simple to make and were absolutely delicious. I cooked them on an indoor grill pan and they turned out perfect. I will definitely make them again. Also don't skip the sauce, it tastes wonderful on the burgers. With the sweet potato fries, this was a very tasty meal! Awesome! 11/18/2007 at 09:27pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I've had problems cooking with ground turkey in the past due to dryness but this recipe was amazing. It was fast, easy, moist, and delicious! yummy!! Turkey Burgers 11/15/2007 at 04:33pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The apple maple turkey bugers are the best turkey burgers I have ever had. My kids loved them also. They don't like most turkey burgers I have made. They were easy to make. I did not have any problems with them being to soft. I used the chunky apple sauce and placed them in the fridge like the recipe called for. Family liked - I didn't 11/15/2007 at 05:33am User: Jen from west seneca, NY User Rating: Which just proves that taste is subjective. These were very simple to make but the texture was strange and the flavor reminded me of turkey breakfast sausage. The sauce tastes rather funky on its own BUT tastes really good on the burger itself. I may make again because my son liked it a lot but not for myself. Thanksgiving on a Bun!! 11/08/2007 at 05:34pm User: jill from st pete, FL User Rating: I made them on the stove and they were wonderful. We also made the sweet potato fries and it was a wonderful meal. meatballs 11/07/2007 at 11:29am User: Beth from Columbia, MD User Rating: I left out the bacon, used shredded fresh apple instead of sauce, added some breadcrumbs and made them into meatballs - a huge hit, especially with the sauce to dip in! Yum! 11/06/2007 at 12:11pm User: Anonymous User Rating: These were great! It was tough to form the patties before refrigerating the meat first, that may have something to do with the fact that I used regular applesauce instead of chunky. I'll use a bit less next time to get a more work-able consistency, and a bit less poultry seasoning. Don't skip the sauce! OMG They were SO BAD 11/02/2007 at 03:08pm User: Anonymous User Rating: These had a really weird texture but that really didn't matter since they basically fell apart. The worst part, though, was the flavor. Hard to describe but suffice to say that the burgers were mostly thrown away. UMM UMM SO HEALTHY! 10/28/2007 at 04:34pm User: Lyndsay from Beaumont, TX User Rating: I have made these turkey burgers twice now and have had friends over and we all agree these are YUM-O! Verry Good 10/28/2007 at 01:10pm User: Lyla from Mesick, MI User Rating: That is the only way my family will eat Turkey Berger now. mixed reviews 09/15/2007 at 06:29pm User: Anonymous User Rating: While my husband liked this dish, I thought it was too sweet and the directions as written were not quite right. In order to have this meat mixture hold together it was necessary to refrigerate it for an hour before cooking. highly recommended 09/09/2007 at 01:10pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Loved the maple flavor of these burgers. What a great idea, that my family loved. a better burger 09/09/2007 at 01:04am User: Anonymous User Rating: Can't tell you how much these burgers were enjoyed! Words can't describe how happy I am to finally have a healthier burger recipe that tastes this awesome! awesome! 09/08/2007 at 06:05pm User: Anonymous User Rating: These turkey burgers are so awesome. I was never a big fan of turkey burgers until I tried this recipe. They come out moist and so delish! Do not recommend 09/08/2007 at 05:18pm User: Anonymous User Rating: These burgers had too much liquid and did not hold together, as other reviewers have noted. The maple flavor was overwhelming and the burgers did not look or taste good. Delicious! 09/07/2007 at 04:04pm User: Jamie from Tumwater, WA User Rating: This recipe for turkey burgers was one of the best I have come across for ground turkey breast in a long time. It was so easy to make and very tasty. I agree with the person who said no bun required because it tastes just as good on its own! I will make these again and again! :) Thanks Sandra! Turkey Burgers 09/07/2007 at 10:37am User: Anonymous User Rating: Def not a keeper if you like turkey burgers. The maple syrup overwhelmed everything and the apples made it too sweet. Amazing!! 09/04/2007 at 02:36pm User: Kelly from Austin, TX User Rating: These were so yummy and so simple! These will be made again and again in my household. The flavor was awesome and I have already given the recipe out to most of my friends. This is a must try!! Excellent ..No buns needed! 09/02/2007 at 04:06pm User: jo from columbus, IN User Rating: These burgers were excellent! After making the sauce my husband and I decided to forgo the buns. They were not needed... Good Job Sandra EXCELLENT 08/31/2007 at 04:30pm User: Susan from North Arlington, NJ User Rating: These burgers are delicious! One of the best I have ever had. Cheryl from Rochester NY 08/30/2007 at 07:15pm User: cheryl from rochester, NY User Rating: This was awesome! Great flavors all the way around. Used turkey bacon, a little less maple syrup= 1.5tbs and unsweetened chunky applesauce and the flavor profile was perfect! Omit the applesauce 08/29/2007 at 02:21pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I found that if you just take out the applesauce it won't be too sweet and the burgers stay together really well. Also, I didn't have poultry seasoning on hand so just used a little sage and it tasted delicious! A new taste for turkey burgers 08/29/2007 at 11:18am User: Pam from Jamestown, IN User Rating: These were delicious and easy. I used turkey bacon to keep them light and I used Granny Smith applesauce. Make sure you use ground turkey BREAST like Sandra says, and not regular ground turkey. The Maple-Dijon sauce is awesome! flavorful 08/28/2007 at 08:01pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I thought this was a great alternative to beef burgers. A tad on the sweet side; I would cut back on the maple syrup next time. I especially appreciated this one because I have a daughter with multiple food allergies (one of them being beef!) and this recipe does not contain any of those allergens. She loved it; we'll definitely make this again. Definately different 08/27/2007 at 02:15pm User: Karyn from Wenatchee, WA User Rating: These burgers looked really good so I decided to try them. I thought the burger lacked flavor, but the maple-dijon mayo was very good. I also fixed onion rings with the burger and ended up using it as a little dipping sauce. Overall this dish is just ok. Fell apart 08/27/2007 at 11:58am User: Anonymous User Rating: The taste was ok (pretty "different") but the burgers totally fell apart on the grill. I think they have too much liquid in them BBQ 08/27/2007 at 05:46am User: Huggzy2007 from Anyhtown, NE User Rating: I was BBQing some stuff for dinner and for the week and decided to try these burgers. I found them way too sweet with both applesauce and maple syrup. Very Good! 08/26/2007 at 08:22pm User: Laurie from Richardson, TX User Rating: Best turkey burger I have ever had! |
