I loved it 09/09/2007 at 12:54pm User: SriLankan from St. Louis, MO User Rating: I used soy bean paste instead of chile bean paste which wasn't available to me. I really liked this recipe. Looks good too! marinade is amazing! 08/13/2007 at 12:21pm User: Cailyn from Vernon, CT User Rating: I actually have only used the marinade from this recipe. I've used it on both beef and chicken, and have to say, it is my favorite marinade! I don't have the Korean chili paste to add, but it still is very tasty. Very Good 06/21/2007 at 06:06pm User: Stephanie from Austin, TX User Rating: I used flank steak because I couldn't find hanger steak. I'm lucky to live in Austin, where I was able to find the gochu jan at the SECOND Asian Market I went to. But, this may be hard to find for people who live in cities with smaller Asian populations, and I don't know if there is a suitable substitution. The end result was very good. My husband has had bulgogi made by a Korean woman, and he said this was very close. An accomplishment, since I'd never tried bulgogi myself, and wasn't sure what it was supposed to taste like. I would have given this 5 stars, but I gave it 4 because of the accessibility of gochu jan (red pepper paste). crowd pleaser 06/19/2006 at 07:47pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This is the best bulgogi marinade I have ever had and I've eaten at many Korean home kitchens. It made it's debut at bbq and everyone loved it begging me for the recipe. Definately try it. The chili paste is so perfect in it. It has just the right amount of bite. the sauce makes it 05/09/2008 at 12:28pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Excellent recipe. Used flank steak instead. Couldn't find the paste, so I used a bottled "chile bean sauce" instead. great recipe 02/09/2006 at 09:36am User: Anonymous User Rating: it was fantastic served with other side dish like radish salad. |
