I substitued Acai berry juice for Cassis and i squeezed peach juice for the Eau de Vie ? turned out fantastic.

This pie was excellent, I had 4 requests for the recipe. I ended up using peach brandy instead of peach eau de vie or cassis, it was not too strong a flavor and much easier to come by. I highly recommend this pie.




Expensive Ingredient

This recipe is excellent except for one thing; peach eau de vie is a very, very, very, expensive liquour that is relatively impossible to find. In my State it would not be permitted to have it sent to me even if I could find it on the Internet. I substituted Peach Brandy, but I wonder if the recipe would be fine without any alcholic breverage. I wish that the Food Network hosts would realize the making these expensive and esoteric ingredients a part of a so-called "home" recipe is unwarranted.

I probably would have rated this recipe higher but I couldn't find peach eau de vie anywhere. My local liquor store is willing to get it for me but they can't find a distributor. I've searched the internet to no avail. Does anyone know of a source? Bobby? Where do I get it?

I really enjoy the tonight program. I also took notes to make this pie at home. Mr. Flay has a great attitude and I love his personality. I am from Nicaragua and reside in Houston, Texas. In my opinion, I will watch his program over and over again. HE IS THE BEST! Hilda Harman

Yesterday I decided to make a pumpkin pie for my friend's b-day. I hate normal crust and needed to get a great recipe. I had recently watched this episode, and decided to try it. It was so light and flaky!!!!!!! Not the usual crust. The judges were right on with this. I have finally found an easy and remarkable recipe for crust. Thanks Bobby!
