Just like Grandma made 12/22/2006 at 11:50am User: LISA from Dublin, CA User Rating: Only thing I changed was the final step...cooking them with butter and sauteed onions. Over the top! I took them to cooking club and they were gone within minutes. Polish Christmas 12/16/2005 at 01:59pm User: Robert from Belchertown, MA User Rating: The dough recipe is as good if not better than Grandmother's recipe. After trying many dough recipes this is the winner. The filling, well it did not sound even close to any traditional polish recipes and fillings I have tried. hard but good 11/23/2005 at 03:14pm User: Anonymous User Rating: These took a long time to make and i had trouble when I boiled them- make sure you pinch them so they are sealed. They were pretty good though. great!!!!! 11/18/2006 at 09:21am User: kathy from orlando, FL User Rating: excellent dough for these periogies, will definetly make again Best Pierogies Ever!!! 11/06/2006 at 08:35am User: Alexandra from Hobbytown, KS User Rating: I made these pierogies for my family the other night and everyone loved them! They did take a long time to make (almost two hours), but the end result was definitely worth it. I would remind anyone using this recipe that it is a sour cream dough, and is very very sticky, so you're going to use lots of flour when dealing with it. Overall, they were amazing! YUM 10/04/2005 at 06:03pm User: Amy from Honeoye Falls, NY User Rating: My family LOVES this recipe. I also make a mashed potato filling with the green onions and cheese. Basically just substitute potato for the meat. Delicious! 10/02/2006 at 09:33am User: Anonymous User Rating: Amazing pierogies, i also like to fry them on the frying pan once they are cooked. Good Eatin! 05/21/2004 at 05:49pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The pierogies took a little time to make, but were really delicious. My husband ate them all in one night. Great but be careful 04/17/2006 at 09:52pm User: Kenneth from Greensboro, NC User Rating: Easter is a great time for all Polish food including pierogies. Although this was my fourth time that I had made this great dish, I wasn/t careful and the dough was too sticky and therefore stuck yo the resting surface. All 100 pierogies had to be redone. good 04/01/2006 at 02:58pm User: Anonymous User Rating: better without the meat and with ricotta and cottage cheese instead OK but better 03/24/2005 at 04:03am User: Cathy Lynn from Gautier, MS User Rating: Good but without meat. Use Farmers cheese instead. very good pierogies 03/13/2006 at 12:36pm User: JASON from Chambersburg, PA User Rating: This was my first attempt at making something like this homemade. It actually turned into a family event. They taste great with the farmers cheese, ground beef, and green onions. Again, this was a nice family time activity. Great recipe for dough 03/04/2007 at 10:35am User: Anonymous User Rating: I loved this recipe for dough. However, because I don't think meat pierogies are very traditional I made my own variations, which included potato and onion, and mushroom and sauerkraut, both were delicious. grandmas pidoggies 02/17/2006 at 09:20pm User: Darren from Ramsey, NJ User Rating: thats what my grandmothers name for them was.Grandma has pasted and i couldn't make the dough until now.She would be impressed.thanks ??? 01/19/2008 at 10:58pm User: Anonymous User Rating: how much salt and pepper do you use for the meat? Polish Xmas Eve 01/05/2005 at 10:36am User: Anonymous User Rating: Pierogis are a xmas tradition in my family. After misplacing my grandmother's recipe, we were definitely not dissappointed with Emeril's version. I replaced the meat filling with yukon gold potatoes & farmer's cheese (Polish Xmas Eve is Meatless) and everyone preferred this filling over the traditional due to the addition of the green onions, etc. |
