This is a great cake - the cake part is spongy and light and the mousse is rich smooth and the frosting adds just that extra kick of chocolate to make the overall cake a decadent delight. It is time consuming, but easy to make. I was so impressed with the end results, as was everyone who ate it! Tip: do not overmix the mousse! This was my first time making a mousse and I mixed it past the "stiff peak" stage to a watery chunky mess!! I had to redo the mousse stage, but once I did it right, it was well worth it!

The mousse was okay, the ganache good but the cake recipe was a flop. It was to dry and pretty much tasteless. Over-rated recipe just because it's emerils.

Cake was a bit dry. I baked for 25 minutes exactly would take out a few minutes earlier next time. I would also make 1 1/2 batches of the mousse. I thought the cake to mousse ratio was lacking. It's a lot of work but will make again with the changes.
