Can't understand the bad reviews

Absolutely delicious, Sandra. Maybe some folks don't know what indirect heat is. Maybe some don't have garam masala in the pantry. Have to confess I always salt meat and poultry a bit before cooking. But otherwise, I made this exactly as written and it was wonderful. Thank you!

BBQ?

This tasted like BBQ Curry Chicken. Next time I will do it in the oven and it will be more "roasted" tasting. While a tandoor is a high heat grill type thing, it doesn't taste like it wsa cooked in Texas.

Tasteless, dry and stringy

Terrible chicken recipe. No taste and the chicken was very dry -- nearly choked you to eat it.

Tasteless

Definitely needed more spice especially salt. In addition my chicken was getting overcooked with the suggested cooking time and I think would have been inedible if I had left it for 30 minutes in my grill pan.

Very Blah

I thought the grill marks on the chicken she made on the show were very unnatural and unappetizing looking so I wanted to avoid them at all costs so I used the oven-baking method. The chicken was horribly bland and tasteless. Just a hint of curry taste and red color. Desperately needed more seasoning. Even some salt would have helped. But not enough for mem to make it again.

Flavorful dish

I made this chicken dish this evening. It was nice, flavorful, moist. The flavor is very subtle and doesn't overwhelm. I did make it in the oven though instead of on the grill (it's snowing outside today in MN and it's April -- ugh!) If I make it in the oven again as per the recipe, I may instead start it in a grill pan on the stove top and then finish it in the oven to crisp up the skin on the chicken thighs just a bit more.

Way beyond tasty.

I had never tried one of Ms. Lee's recipes or Indian inspired recipes, but I thought this looked easy enough. I followed the directions but marinated 10 pieces rather than 8 overnight. We were thrilled with the results. We left the skin on and grilled them on the gas grill outdoors. They got a good crispy skin and they had a light spicy and sweet flavor. We also added the cashew/raisin rice and the yogurt dip and pita chips. The flavors were unexpected since I had never made anything like this before. I would make this dish for company.

Better than Expected!

This recipe was much better than I anticipated from the other reviews. I used boneless skinless thighs which decreased the cooking time. The meat was juicy and very flavorful without being too highly spiced for my kids. I highly recommend it.
