I think using frozen corn made the finished product have a tough texture. It came out too sweet for my (and my family's) taste.

a keeper

This was great! My bf LOVED it! I dont understand why theres so many negative reviews. Maybe some people arent thawing their corn before hand, not cooking it right, or either just getting crappy bagged corn. Get a frozen corn that tastes good out of the bag. Some frozen corn is not very good when cooking it alone, it is chewy and has no flavor. So that could be why. I used sweet white corn. YUMMY! It was sweet, but delicious for a change. This is a keeper with my favorite recipes.

Yummy!!!

My family thought it was terrific. If you don't follow the directions, it will be chewy. I have made this 3 times and we just love it. I am even going to make this as a side for Thanksgiving for those who don't like cranberry sauce for something sweet to go along with the savory.

GREAT

This corn turned out to be more like a hot breakfast porrige or something. It was very sweet and the butter and cream just made it seem like breakfast food. The corn was very tough, like people have said. I won't recommend it.

Just okay

I had high expectations for this recipe. The corn never did brown, even after the cream evaporated. The honey and cream give it a different taste we're not used to, it was interesting, but almost syrupy. Husband told me he thought I overcooked it, but I explained, it had a very chewy texture b/c the corn was frozen.

Bad texture

I used honey and it made it turn out very sticky. The corn got almost tough. It does NOT store well.

I thought this dish would taste a lot better because of the way it smelled while cooking but it was way too fatty. I didn't even taste the corn.

Better if you use fresh corn

I didn't use honey cause we don't like it but I did use white sugar which is an option on the recipe. This was SOOO good. A bit too sweet to eat alone but with the other things on the plate it was great. My husband asked me to make it at special holidays and events. You may not think it'll brown but after the cream evaporates, it will. Keep an eye on it. DELICIOUS!!!

Very Tasty!!!

This was very good. I forgot to thaw out the corn before using it, and it still turned out well. Sweet, creamy, delicious, and quick! Yummy!

I had no problem using frozen corn, it was even walmart brand. I used the honey which yes it was sweet, but delicious. Even my husband raved, and he is not hot on sweet dishes. Next time I will cut the honey to 1 1/2 Tablespoons instead.

I saw Reggie Sutherland and Sandra Lee yesterday doing a show on soul food with fried chicken and this fried corn recipe. Lately I've been into corn and have a few cans of quality canned corn on hand. I tried the recipe; however, instead of using the 16 oz. bag of *frozen* corn used up a couple of cans of the canned corn (doubled the recipe ingredients consequently), and it was DELICIOUS!!!!!! I had no problems like w/the other posters who had problems with the FROZEN corn, just use like I did canned quality corn! I enjoyed it very much, hope you'll try it soon. Good "comfort food" in these stressful times we're living in.

I love this recipe. I've made it for guests and it's the Rave! I've lightened it, too, using half olive oil and half the butter; skim milk instead of heavy cream - still delicious!

My Mom makes a great creamed corn but it takes a long time to cook. This is a great creamed corn quickly and easily. If you have a picky kid let him try this!!!

I cooked this until the cream was gone and the corn started to carmalize. I've made it twice and loved it both times. A sure keeper. Yes, the corn is kind of sticky-chewy, but that's part of the carmalization process. Even true fried or grilled corn gets that way, it's part of the appeal!

I saw this on the show Sunday morning, and decided to make it with dinner that night. Wow, am I impressed! It had a wonderful, not too sweet flavor, and was a great new way to make corn. I'll be using this recipe over and over again.
