I made 2 of these pies for Thanksgiving (one for my parents Thanksgiving dinner and one for my inlaws Thanksgiving dinner). The pies looked delicious, and tasted just as good! I would definitely make this pie again. It was so good and really easy.

I've never had Sweet Potato Pie and decided to give this a try. It was great. I love pecans but do not care for the gooey sweetness of pecan pie. The pecan topping was great. I also like the hint of freshness the lemon added. Tastes much better cold.

Yummo

Looked and Tasted Horrible

The pie looked unappetizing and also had a very unappetizing texture. The taste was very sweet but also very bland. This is not a pie I'll be making again.

Have not tried this recipe, but wouldn't it be wonderful to see Reggie with his own show and each show would have a guest chef...all the FN chefs taking turns. How enjoyable would that be.

This was the worst thing I have ever seen. I couldn't get past the look to taste it! My family could not believe I used canned sweet potatoes. Some things are better off left untouched. Semi-Homemade or not. If you make this recipe, I BEG YOU TO USE FRESH SWEET POTATOES!

good good good

Not Sweet Enough

I thought this pie was not sweet enough I could taste the salt when i tested my mixture and had to add brown sugar to get rid of that salty taste....texture was not a normal sweet potato pie.... But good and different. I'm sure Sandra suggested the canned yams because that is what her show is based off of... I would make this pie again will but add nutmeg and cinnamon

Not good

This pie was cloyingly sweet. I prefer fresh sweet potatoes. I love pumpkin pie spice but that didn't help.

Disappointing

I found this pie way too sweet and the color offputting. Will not make again.

Very Sweet

I drained the potatoes very well but it was still very sweet. I didn't really care for the texture either after the food processing. It was almost like a mousse instead of the traditional sweet potato pie. Which is dense and custardy. Nope, this was not for me.

The best of both

I made this pie for dinner tonight. I had to sneak a taste. It is delicious. I don't know if the canned potatoes was his idea or Sandra's idea. It turned out great, but next time I will use fresh ones. I also made the corn. It too is delicious. Reggie did a great job. He made the show enjoyable, and presented recipes that viewers will want to make. FN, please give him another guest spot on her show again soon.

I made this pie & took it to work to share with employees. It vanished very quickly. I plan to make it again for my church's bake sale. Great fall season dessert. i think the canned sweet potatoes made for a very smooth texture.

I have been looking for a different sweet potato pie, and this is it! I am going to try making it, and freezing the pie before baking to see if I can prepare it ahead for Thanksgiving.

I tried this after seeing the show on Saturday and this is fantastic! Mine of course didn't look as "pretty" as theirs but tated great. I accidently bought a regular pie shell (instead of deep dish) and had one pie with the topping and one without...both were excetptional. This will definitely be a dessert for Thanksgiving!

super fast prep and delicious pie

I made this recipe after it aired this past weekend, opting to use fresh sweet potatoes vs. canned. Either way you can't go wrong. The pie came out fantastic. The ingredients are straight forward and make for an easy and tasty filling. My baking time was exactly an hour. All of our guests, including one who did not like sweet potatoes, loved this dessert.

This looks good, but I'm afraid to try it until I see other reviews. Why not fresh sweet potatoes? Did Sandra Lee have to put her own special touch on it?

My wife made one for our VFW Friday night dinner and it was well received. Felt a lot safer than look-a-like pecan pie.
