I PREPARED THIS FOR FRIENDS WHO WERE REARED IN CHICAGO. THEY LOVED IT! MY ONLY SUGGESTION WOULD BE TO TRY AN ALTERNATE/EASIER RECIPE FOR PIZZA DOUGH.

I have never made a deep dish pizza from scratch before, and this one was great. The flavor was awesome and the crust was very simple to make. Just be sure to let your dough rise in a warm area, around 78 degrees. I put mine near the stove. Be sure to use only one cup of sauce...any more would be too much. At first, it looked too wet when I pulled it out of the oven, but when it was cut and tasted, I wouldn't change a thing!

Had tonight for dinner it was great, kids really loved it would not change a thing, expect I might try a different dough everything GREAT !

I have never been successful in making any kind of crust until now. I made the basic pizza crust and it came out wonderfully delicious! It seemed like a lot of onions and green peppers at first, but it all cooks down in the skillet and then again in the pizza dish. I used pepperoni instead of the italian sausage and it was perfect! I will definitely make this again!
