Until smell-0-vision becomes available, the best thing that Emeril could do is kick it up a notch to HDTV. That way everyone can enjoy each Bam! even more.

I haven't tried it yet, but I am glad that I was able to get the recipe for his "essence". I plan on using it on chicken, steak, turkey and whatever else I can think of.

As almost every review says Essence is great on meat but it does so much more. As Emeril says... " I don't know where you get your bread crumbs... but where I get mine they don't come seasoned!". Mine don't either but a teaspoon or so of Essence makes a world of difference to anything you bread.

It is so close to the packaged blend Called Essence at a fraction of the cost. I slightly lowered the cayenne amount so that it pleased my taste. It is really good on tator tots, fries, and fried onion rings. I'll be trying this blend on alot of things. Easy to mix. I had all the ingredients. If your diet has a saly issue use the substitute and injoy.

My husband and I are great fans, along with our 3 year old granddaughter who watches Emeril Live every night after her bath. We use essence for just about everything. It is great on deviled eggs. I use it in a marinated shrimp recipe and there are never any left.

You can use this seasoning on literally almost any dish (soup, meat,etc..)to give your meal flavor. I thought I would only use it a couple of times before becoming bored with it...not so.

A friend of ours gave us a young deer involved in a "road kill." The deer was still fresh as the woman who hit it was grieving by the side of the road. Our deer hunting friend offered to take the deer. To the point...we cut the tender loin into 1/2 inch thick X 2" wide medallions, sprinkled with Essence and to the grill. We're still talking about 'em.

I'm so happy to have gotten this recipe. I use it in so many dishes that I prepare. It's the greatest in spaghetti and on hamburgers. A pinch is all you need and you can say BAM if you want too. Donna M.

My husband and I made this after watching one of Emeril's shows. It was soo easy to mix. We doubled the recipe and stored in a quart jar. Now I "essence" nearly everything I cook. Its really good rubbed into a roast prior to cooking!

By making the essence yourself you can tweak it. If it's to hot then use less cayenne pepper if you like it hotter use more cayenne. Personally, I like just the way the recipe is given. My wife does not care for beef other than hamburger. One day I cooked a flank steak using essence as a rub, she ate a bite and exclamed I finally found a steak that I liked, and preceded to eat the rest of MY steak.

I've made this, and it's awesome. Like Emeril says.."It's great on just about anything". It's much better than the premade seasonings that are available in the store. Try it....you'll never want to be without it again.
