I tasted this dressing to tweak the seasonings while making it, and frankly, I thought it would be WAY too tangy. Tasted it on the spinich and it was AWESOME! I guess the addition of the spinach toned it down a bit. My guests thought it was the best spinach salad they ever had. With some warm crusty bread, this could be a meal in and of itself.

Very tasty but the dressing needed work. I found it to be slightly bland and too runny so I added an additional teaspoon of mustard and more sugar, and salt. I would suggest tasting it before using to adjust to your liking. After I did that, the salad was very good.

I really enjoyed this dressing. Next time I think I'll toss the bacon back into the dressing while on the burner to warm it back up - it wasn't as hot as I prefer. I also may add a thickener like a pinch of flour, because I like my warm bacon dressing a little thicker.

Hubby has requested this salad repeatedly since the first time I made it. We used to buy warm bacon salad dressing but never again! Thanks Alton for another wonderful recipe!

I make this salad a couple of times a month and my family loves it. I occasionally change it up a bit by adding some feta cheese, but just on its own it is great.

The recipe we saw on TV looked great, but he did not use rendered fat in the saucepan. The rendered fat (bacon) and the bacon bits was simply too greasy and too cold. Use a little oliveoil and less bacon bits. The white mushrooms add nothing to the recipe...which I would enjoy with the changes. Great idea to warm the spinach in the saucepan (stainless steel bowl on the show). I will look to adapt this recipe for our family...it basically is great...sorry for the initial low marks.

This salad was simple but delicious!!! Very tasty, even my picky 21 yr old son ate it, and he hates spinach. You must try this one it's a pleaser.....Thanks for the recipe.
