Little Grandma's Broccoli
Recipe courtesy Kathleen Daelemans
Show:  Cooking Thin
Episode:  Occupational Hazards
1 head broccoli, broken into stalks
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup lemon juice
Pinch chili flakes
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Coarse grained salt and cracked black pepper

Peel broccoli stalks to remove tough strings. Cut each stalk lengthwise into halves or quarters, depending on size. Put into large glass baking dish with 1/2 cup water. Cover tightly with plastic wrap. Microwave on medium high for 14 to 17 minutes, depending on the size of your bunch of broccoli and how tender you like your vegetables. Drain. Add the lemon juice, chili flakes, olive oil, salt and pepper, to taste. Mix well. Serve warm or cold.
