Snow Peas with Orange Liqueur

Snow Peas with Orange Liqueur
1 cup water
1 teaspoon sugar
3 (10-ounce) packages frozen snow peas
1 (8-ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
1/4 cup orange-flavored liqueur (recommended: Grand Marnier)
5 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint leaves, or 1 1/2 tablespoons dried mint
1 teaspoon salt

Bring 1 cup of water to a boil and add the sugar. Drop in the snow peas and cook until barely tender, drain, and return to pan. Add the water chestnuts, orange liqueur, butter, mint, and salt. Cook over medium-low heat until heated through.
