I've been looking for a simple and delicious potato recipe while trying to avoid Velveeta and this is it! The cooking time did need adjustment but the end result was awesome! The amount of sauce was perfect for us, enough but not too runny. Plus I topped the dish with extra cheese and some pancetta I had and we loved it!

I've made this a couple times and everyone enjoyed it. I've used cheddar which is great but try it with greyere ... to die for.

This recipe was easy and delicious...I used my food processor to slice the potatoes thin, but they needed to be cooked about twice as long before they were tender (I tested by pricking with a fork. I covered and baked for 40 minutes, then baked uncovered to get a nice golden crust - Yum! Some recipes need to be adjusted for your tastes...isn't that what the art of cooking is all about? So, don't let that deter you from trying this recipe out! It's a good starting point. I think I'd add fresh thyme to the boiling milk and cubed ham or bacon to the mix next time I use this one :

This recipe is great. I cooked dinner for eight and they love the Cheese Scalloped Potatoes. Since the cheese already has salt I wouldn't season the potatoes with salt. Also I would add one more potatoe to this ecipe. I doubled the recipe for 8 servings and for my taste there is to much sauce.

So easy and delicious. I double the recipe but bake in 2 pans. They disappear quickly.

These potatoes were not difficult to make and they were very tasty. This will definitely be a repeat recipe in my house.

Great basic recipe for scalloped potatoes! Took over to a friends house and we all loved it! I will make this again and may add a little more seasoning next time.

I followed the recipe carefully but it did not turn out well. There was clearly not enough sauce for this amount of potatoes because the potatoes were dry and did not get cooked fully even when quadrupling the baking time. The final result was barely edible... and I am not a picky eater. I think with scalloped potatoes you need to go with a recipe using heavy cream and lots of butter and cheese.
