Oh, yeah! Serve out of freezer straight up, top lady fingers with lemon sorbet or vanilla ice cream and pour a little limoncello over top, and countless other adaptations. Best of all, I present as Christmas gifts with home made biscotti. I like to let zest soak a little longer . . . more intensity. Be prepared to become very popular.

Visited with some old friends that we haven't seen in awhile this past Saturday night. After dinner they brought out an ice cold bottle of Mario's Orangecello. Everclear grain alcohol was substituted for the vodka. This modified recipe served right out of the freezer was the most smooth and wonderful cello I ever drank! Rating is EXCELLENT!

The first time I made a lemon batch and a lime batch. This time I've made lemon again and have also tried oranges. It's just so good and easy to make... and of course it's pretty impressive to show up with your own homemade limoncelo (or lime or orange at a gathering!

...out of the numerous ones found on this site. If you can find Meyer lemons, it will taste much closer to Sorrento limoncello - a soft, ethereal sweetness with a hint of herbal complexity that conventional lemons just cannot attain. Substitute 12 since Meyers are small.

I made the blood orange version and it was so good, next I will do just lemon. I can't get enough. The lime flavored sounds good too! Way to go Mario!

So easy and effective. A must. Have seen these bottles in Italy, but why buy it if you can make it without preservatives!
    Thank you Mario

This is a great recipe. I've used it in my cake batter and in my fruit toppings for dessert. I'm also going to try the same recipe and substitute the lemons for oranges. Your recipe is very versatile.

Thank you Mario for this wonderful recipe! My husband is from Argentina, which I am sure you might know has a very large Italian population. Limoncello is very popular there and whenever I ask if a restaurant has Limoncello here in the United States, the response is always "What?". Thank you for giving me the recipe to make this delicious after dinner drink!
